Seems like an absolute steal at todays prices...

Invsestment thesis:
-TX based (relatively strong, oil driven economy, net population growth etc)
-Low PE relative to retail peers (3.75x)
-I've never seen an Academy store suffer from foot traffic... always packed
-Few retailers are attractive to full spectrum... Soccer Moms to Fisherman, Kids, Outdoor recreation
-Increased participation in outdoor recreation.... tough to beat Academy for these goods

Feels like a no brainer.... I'm long

Academy here is a ghost town. Lots of empty shelves as well.

Academy sports is packed here. However their website is absolute garbage. That being said actually a true value the market is offering. I'm already a shareholder.

Sorry to sidetrack, but looking at their competition, BGFV pays a handsome dividend. Any owners of that here?

$250M revenue @ 3.7% net margin vs $2B @ 7.8% net margin

Dividend won't mean much if inflation eats what little margin BGFV has to spare

It opened down and I got greedy and placed a limit order expecting it would continue to trend down and I'd scoop it up a bit cheaper. Instead it's now up 8% and never hit my price . If I had placed market order I'd be up 10%

Same... premarket was down 10%, I was hoping to load up but ended up buying early while it was down 3%

Easy money....great retailer
