Very long term return is 10%. Are you telling me an experienced stock picker can generate 60-80% annual returns consistently? Dam, Ishoulda gone to Experienced Stock Picker School.

Founded by the genius that suggested a good strategy was to buy stocks at their rock bottom.

Thinking about selling most of my index funds and just leaving my tech stocks. Virus fears may be way overblown but I'm afraid the economic carnage is going to be super ugly the next 12-18 months, coupled with the prospects of Democrats getting back into power. I don't think we retest the March lows, but I think we could easily drop 15-20% from current levels.

i think we start to see tech struggle some. tech relies on the other industries to meet those subscription obligations and be expanding businesa to have new software needs.

A couple of questions about this bet you're offering, for clarity.

- Does the betting competitor have to pick an ETF, or does it have to be 10 individual stock tickers of the competitors choice, or even just 1 single company ticker to go up against QQQ in a 3 month span?

- Is there a cash investment minimum or maximum into chosen stock? Shouldn't be in my opinion, since the bet is on performance.

- Is the bet going to be based off session close price Monday 5/12/20 and Wednesday 8/12/20?

Sorry, got busy with Mother's Day stuff.

So basically, this is how I would do it.

Pick a start date.

My pick is QQQ.

You can pick any 10 individual stocks you want.

We check back in three months.

The winner is whichever performs better: QQQ vs the equally weighted average performance of your picks.

So if QQQ increases 5% and your basket's average is 4%, I win.

Make sense? No max/minimum investment. Doesn't matter if it's BRK.A vs one share of QQQ. It's just the percent increase/decrease.

not really seeing much of a rally - we are about where we were a month ago - what am i missing?

What are you missing? You are in the wrong stocks. I am in 4 stocks, LAMR, XOM, SHOP and ZYXI. I have seen a huge rally over the last month.

LAMR,

What's your upside target for this? I sold at 70 last week with the earnings surprise. Would buy back in if it hits 60 again.

I am long and not selling. I am up close to 50% as of today and think it will hit 95 within 2 years. I am long in XOM and about to be in LUV as well. Expect LAMR to get into acquisition mode again late this year/early next and start buying up struggling mid/large market companies.

I love TQQQ. In fact, one of my best strategies is holding TQQQ and TMF and reblanacing bimonthly based on risk parity. It destroys the market but is volatile.

A safer leveraged bet is the same strategy using QLD/UBT. That has been my best strategy the last few years.

Not sure where you see a rally

I mean, the world has been shutdown for months, and my portfolio is only down like 10% for the year.

I’d say we’ve rallied quite a bit from where most expected us to be, and I for one am quite concerned.
