Dividends about to get raised, not suspended

Certainly a fascinating upcoming decision. Will Saylor raise it to 15%+ to try to get it back to $100? If it’s raised that high, will it finally spook the remaining believers?
How does he buy more BTC if STRC is at $80 without setting off a death spiral?

Official guidance says it will get raised 0.5% based upon the 30 day VWAP being below $95. Saylor and board can certainly do more than that if they want though. I'd bet its only raised to 12% though

I’m eager to see the outcome. Anyone that bought STRC in the past year is underwater. I can’t wait to see how many people are motivated by another .5% bump and choose now’s the time to get a piece of that action.

Eh, next stop is to suspend dividends. The final phase will be to blowout a new class of shares ATM that actually uses the BTC as collateral. Then they’ll just leave common shareholders in the wind.

Naa man, next step is to suspend dividends...despite having a billion dollars in cash on the balance sheet, which its main purpose is too...pay the dividends.

Well, given he spent half the reserve he claimed was for dividends and then proceeded to pay off bonds last month, I wouldn’t hold my breath.

I still want someone to come in here and make the straight-faced case for paying 3-4X BTC spot for this stock.
All the big lecturing paragraph typers - calmly and condescendingly pointing out what we don't seem to "get" - seem to have disappeared.

The HELOC fun and leveraged plays for MSTY and MSTU discussions have certainly become hard to find. Seems all the YouTubers promoting their generational wealth strategies have all quietly deleted their content too.

How is that possible? Their average is $75k and BTC is $59k.
Call me crazy, but this has become an unrecoverable business plan.

the market value of the company is less than the market value of its BTC holdings

MicroStrategy's (now Strategy) current mNAV (market-to-net asset value) sits between 0.65x and 0.73x, reflecting a valuation where the stock's market value is trading at a discount to the underlying value of its Bitcoin treasury.

The BTC market is so thinly traded the market is smartly pricing that to return STRC to par they have to sell Bitcoin.. Which will send the price down quickly.
After they spent their cash reserves buying back stock they are barely sitting on a year of cash at current payout rate. It's even less when you consider they must raise the dividend. Selling BTC is the only avenue to return STRC

I guess I’m ignorant. How can it trade at a discount when they’d be $14 billion underwater if they liquidated their assets?

Simple, the market cap of the company, ie the value if the stock is less than the totality of their btc holdings.
Said differently,
If they sell all their bitcoin, in theory they would have more cash than the value of the enterprise. Thus the stock trades at price less than their net asset value or nav.
The embedded losses in their btc holdings are already baked in. Its like you start a company, the company buys 100 shares of a stock at 100 bucks a share ($10000). The value of that stock drops to 80 ($8000 total) and the market is pricing your company less than 8000, ie a dicount to the intrinsic value of those shares, because they think youre moron that burns money.

I think if MSTR truly started selling large portion of BTC, its such a thin market. BTC prices would div 50+%.
Dont think the risk is completely baked in, thus STRC is sitting at 74

here’s what I just don’t get about these MSTR preferreds…in every other sector dividend yields are funded by revenue. You are paying a fee (the price of the preferred stock) to share in the revenue generated by the underlying asset. Great for the issuer as they can easily raise cash, great for the buyer as they enjoy a fixed income
But MSTRs underlying asset doesn’t generate any revenue. They can fund the dividend in only two ways…
Issuance of new preferreds, common or debt.
Sale of Bitcoin
it’s a ponzi in plain sight. This only works when the price of BTC is rising. STRC holder get all the downside risk and upside is capped
