I always go to dividendchannel.com and if I can’t find a couple of periods of time where doing a DRIP on the synthetic version beats the underlying, I say hell no. They basically never beat the underlying.

If you’re buying the YM version because of the “dividend” without even liking the underlying, that’s a disaster waiting to happen.

It become a nihilist pleasure of mine over the summer. Ive gotten to where whenever one of the faithful who claims to be committed to the system states their entry date, I can recall from memory whether they’re positive or negative and often the percentage.

Strategy issued new Euro-denominated preferred shares with a 12.5% yield to attract European institutional investors as confidence in its common stock weakens. The company, formerly MicroStrategy, sold 7.75 million preferred shares at €80 each with a 10% annual dividend, raising about $700 million. The €100 face-value shares will trade on Europe MTF, its first non-U.S. offering. Existing Nasdaq-listed preferreds yield between 9% and 13%.

Now things are really getting wild. In what clown world is there an appetite for a dividend stock from a company that doesn’t even feign interest in revenue generation?

I’ve rotated a large portion of my MSTR gains to the STRF preferred

I guess that’s an improvement. We’ve discussed the beauty of STRF before. Saylor can cancel the dividend at any time and the penalty is tacking on a penalty he’s also not obligated to distribute.

It’s pretty widely rumored his next issuance will be a class of shares that actually carves out a specified number of BTC as collateral…which will really spook the MSTR hodlers.

I bet that first round of preferreds is starting to question taking the bet they took on $650/sh options. The second group that jumped at $1000/sh definitely aren’t mentioning it at the thanksgiving dinner table this year.

You are confusing Convertible Bond Notes and the Preferreds btw. The CBs were $650 and $1000 strike. The preferreds trade like stocks under STRF, STRC, STRK, STRD

I honestly would like a refreshed underwriting/defense of this stock. How can anyone possibly argue for it at this point?

And before people just say muh bitcoin, realize that, from the date of the recent high in MSTR ($455 on July 16) through Oct 10, bitcoin was up 5% - setting an alltime high record on that date.

Over that SAME STRETCH, MSTR was down33% already.

Since then, bitcoin is down 32% and MSTR is down 40%.

In all fairness, the people that got scammed on this one weren’t even born yet when Saylor was scamming their parents.
