Will be interesting this time around as Trump is taking on a very expensive market.
this
i bought SHOP at 34.80...it has nearly tripled since. its up 5% today. earnings are tomorrow morning. SHOP is incredibly & magnificently overvalued relative to its peers.

this market is way overheated and logically theres nowhere to go but down

Yes

My covered calls are getting exercised heavily.

I don't see anything I want to buy.
I have a few stocks I likely will keep
200 shares MSFT
1500 shares PLTR
5000 shares SOFI

Rest will just go to cash for a bit.

now would be a good time to take profits if I had any sense. Whether I do or not is another matter

Sold half my position in TSLA yesterday. Letting the other half ride the wave on out for a bit
Probably sitting on that cash for a little to see if there are any dips somewhere between now and end of year

I think we’ll have a correction soon. No reason to run for the hills

You need to re read the chart. That says through June 2023. At the end of June 2023 the S&P was at 4400. Before the election on November 1st it closed at 5995. Up 36% since June 2023 to Nov 1st 2024.

Again, the market doesn't care over time

Anybody taking profits?

Once we hit mid-80s I considered cashing out a small bit just to recoup some of what I've put in and make a small bit, but then thought...why? All I'd want to do it just buy more BTC but at double what I paid originally lol

My car is 13 years old so I think that within the next ~2 years I'll need to get a new one, so my plan is to just keep holding on until then then cash out a bit.

I took profits on RKLB this morning so that the rest of my shares are house money.

selling winners to feed losers? That’s a good way to go broke

It is selling high and buying low. It has worked very well for the last 10+ years. you might also call it "rebalancing." Tons of articles/studies out there on the effectiveness of regular rebalancing.

hmmm…well I “rebalance” by selling my (many) losers and using the proceeds to either feed a winner at a dip or try and find another one. I’m not sure I agree that a sound investment strategy would or should include buying more of a stock that has already proven itself as unprofitable.

to wit: “I lowered my cost basis”
no you didn’t…you bought another lot at a lower price

If he's buying more KO because it's dipped 10% from the high, then he certainly won't go broke.

Now if he's loading up on spirit....
