HES is really tempting right now at $42

Not familiar with HES

Current trend looks like it might hit it's 3 year low again at 35. Buying opportunity??

I've been hesitant to jump on any O&G the last few years, but I'll be making some plays the next coming weeks.

Just drove through a bunch of oil country in north Louisana, Texas, and Oklahoma. Saw a million little pumper wells, all sitting idle.

Hess is doing well from an operations standpoint. Cash cow is the Bakken, while making world class discoveries in Guyana.

Apparently XOM and HES have run into a bit of trouble near the Venezuelan coast. HES down 8-9% this morning.

More likely related to the drop in oil prices today.

No reason for losing 12.2% in half a day.

Here's more info on what I alluded to earlier today:

(Bloomberg) -- Hess Corp. tumbled the most in almost three years, wiping out $1.5 billion in market valuation, after work at the oil explorer’s most promising international investment was halted by a Venezuelan blockade.

The intervention threatened to derail development of a 5 billion-barrel discovery off Guyana’s coastline that is so important to Hess’s future growth plans that it receives top billing in the New York-based driller’s investor presentations. Although significant for partners Exxon Mobil Corp. and CNOOC Ltd., Hess is particularly dependent on the Guyanese project to generate production growth and cash flow into the next decade.
