For the first time in a good while I'm interested in the majors again as well as VDE.

I've made decent money on MRO multiple times but this time if I buy I do not wish to sell.
MRO is down to $14 from $23 just a few months ago.
XOM is down to $71

Drilling:
NE - $2.98 (-51% in 3 mo.)
RIG - $7.09 (-40% in 3 mo.)
This is a lower share price for Transocean than when oil hit $26/barrel

Holy shite. I didn't realize WFT was under $.50

I've owned that stock in the past in the high teens

It's hard for me to imagine Transocean going under. I doubt they buy Noble also.

Why do you say that?

I see no viable way for them to last in their current form.

Though not entirely an O&G stock, I’m waiting for GE to hit 6 and loading up

Thinking of making a play on Diamond

DO is down to $8.98 from $20 3 months ago.
HP is down to $47 from $65 3 months ago

haven't looked at O&G in a few years

Thoughts?

LNGLF at .33???

Don’t know either of these, and after following LNGLF for 3-4 years now...when’s it ever gonna move?! I’d say buy 1,000 shares for fun at that price.

All the ones I mentioned above continue to plummet.

Transocean bought a lot of rigs for cheap when the downturn forced others to shed assets. However, if those rigs don't go to work soon they may never be able to re-activate them. Diamond hasn't spent shite on new rigs since the downturn and 4 of their 5 warm stacked rigs have contracts starting in 2019

HOS is down to $1.41 but some experts seem to think they're mispriced. However, I do know that they just stacked some more boats this week

HP is on my closely follow list. It dropped 7% today and is less than a dollar away from its 52 week low. Not buying yet but keeping an eye on it.

I would avoid like the plague any company heavily invested in the deepwater drilling market.

We have this thread about every 6 months and the outlook for that segment is getting worse every time.

Deepwater drilling isn't going anywhere. It's just a matter of pinpointing which companies are strong enough to make it through the rest of this downturn. And the recent drop in oil prices may extend the downturn even longer. But shell and Chevron both have first of it's kind deepwater plays coming online in 2019. Depending on the success of those fields, it could easily lead to an uptick in activity in deepwater.

We are on year 4 of that song and dance and deepwater rig count is still heading down and will continue to do so as projects already underway are wrapped up.

The ROI on most deepwater projects is measured in decades and that is just plain and simple not a prudent move right now.

The deepwater rig count is up 3 rigs from this time last year. Although not a significant jump, its not continuing to go down. And that's just GOM rigs. There's activity in Mexico, Brasil, West Africa, Trinidad, Guyana, and the Middle East

I already know why you chose to leave these out.

Watch the next 60 days and lets revisit this then.

I am in deepwater and trying my damndest to get to land. There is a reason why all of the majors are doing all of their heavy investing in land.

they have a ton of cash on hand. However, time is ticking. I heard that they can “hold out” until 2021 then they run out of money.

If HP gets below $40, I'll be very tempted to jump on it.

Diamond Offshore (DO) is at a 5yr low, $8.91 not sure how much lower it will go.

LNGLF- been watching that one for 3 years, guess it's time to put $1000 on it like Bayou said and just leave it alone.

HES is really tempting right now at $42. People on this board had high hopes for this one a couple years ago.
