When everything starts sellling…EVERYTHING starts selling. Stocks, gold, commercial bonds, etc. At least that’s been my experience through 2001, 2008, etc. and it taught me that diversification is really tough in a panic sell off.
SquatchDawg is correct, in the event of market correction, metal equities will also sell off with the general market ....as investors scramble to meet margin calls.
However, the downturn in gold will be less pronounced and will recover much quicker .... at least, that is what we experienced in both 2000 and 2007. The difference today is that the Debt levels are much, much more significant. This is what makes me question whether USTs will offer the flight to safety that they have traditionally provided. "US Treasuries are the least dirty shirt in the dirty clothes pile"
Meanwhile. we're still in the early stages of a gold bull ....

I have IAUI.
I don’t know anything about GOLY, but 35% returns on a gold etf gives me Yieldmax vibes, and I’m done riding that pony.

Are GLD and PHYS roughly the same? Both holding physical gold?
In a way.
NOTES:
Only authorized participants (Financial Institutions) can cash in GLD shares for physical. I also think you need like 100,000+ shares minimum to do the exchange. Each share represents 1/10 ounce of Gold, so 10,000 ounces.
There's a threshold for PHYS as well, I believe 400 ounces, which is much more obtainable, but it's still not something for the average Joe that's hoping to exchange for physical one day.
Both give exposure to the market though. I own neither.

Do any of y'all that stack physical metal use an app/program to log your holdings?

Morgan Stanley CIO favors 60/20/20 portfolio strategy with Gold as inflation hedge
Reuters

A 60/20/20 portfolio strategy that includes 20% gold is a more resilient inflation hedge at a time when U.S. equities are offering historically low upside over Treasuries and investors are demanding higher yields for long-term bonds, Morgan Stanley (MS.N), opens new tab Chief Investment Officer Mike Wilson said on Tuesday.

I find it interesting that most money managers recommend you follow their advice on asset purchases moments after they followed their advice on asset purchases.

They keep trying to tamp Silver down and the dip keeps getting swallowed up quickly and it moves higher.
Has this thing finally busted loose? I've always heard that it's the most manipulated price on the planet, though I've never dug deep on that theory.

Silver, platinum and palladium are straight ripping. I’m going for that next next level and I’m starting to load up on SRUUF which is a closed ended fund that owns Uranium. I didn’t even know that was legal.

Taking a flyer on Vizsla Copper stock (VCUFF)
Sister company to Vizsla Silver which has had a nice run up from penny stock to $4+ current share price within 5 years.
They have promising targets in Canada. Current stock price at $0.07

Ray Dalio is predicting $4k silver on Youtube.

We live in a world where memecoins that represent nothing have went parabolic in price.
What happens when that money starts filtering into tangible assets?
That said, idk about $4k silver. That'd definitely mean that shite is colossally f****d up, both politically and economically.

Done with crypto for 2 reasons. The gubmint can outlaw it at any time. Pocahontas wants "Unrealized gains" from it. She wants large chunks.

It is weird how someone with the net worth of Dalio is constantly pumping and pimping gold and silver. He has been saying a depression is come for a decade now.

The Gold price is so damn strong right now. $50 daily jumps are frequent as of late. Big Bull Run.
Something is different this time. It's like the whole world is stacking.

Up $70/oz today so far. Manipulators can’t, in the long run, compete with 3 billion in China and India when those people lose interest in their currencies and want to hold gold or silver.
