I have a story about him...

He convinced me to buy around $15.

I tried to buy $300 worth..20 coins.

After hours of trying to buy I gave up and said frick it. If it's this hard to buy no one's going to use this shite.

1.13 million later ..

shite

I just know i would have sold between then and now. I guess I'd probably hold on to some portion but I doubt it would be more than 10-20%. Which would still be pretty awesome... but so would hitting winners in blackjack 10 hands in a row.

doubt there are many people that still hold much of their stash of btc sub $100. When it hit $1000, $5,000, $10,000, and eventually $20,000 in 2017/18 I am sure most of them sold.

I promise all the ones I bought in 10, 11, 12 have long been gone

I'm glad I was an earlier adopter but mad I never just held. My first purchase alone would have netted me 60 million instead of just doubling my money.

I try jot to dwell on it as it can get depressing

How could you possibly expect to stay sane while holding on to those gains? You would have to be a sociopath.

I think rationally as others have mentioned you'd have to take some of the gains to hedge

I mean if you bought BTC at 13 and sold at 150 you'd be feeling damn good about it

But you'd always wonder what could have been if you didn't hold onto a small portion of the gains

This is where your belief in the technology comes in. Are you buying because you are reading some charts and think you can time tops and bottoms or do you truly believe that this technology with change the world.

This Bitcoin post reminded me that I had stowed away $200 in Bitcoin back in 2019 for a potential deal I was working on. I had forgotten about it. Don’t know the values of where I bought, but I do know my $200 was worth $900 and change when I checked just now.

Went ahead and cashed out. I’m long on Doge at the moment but trying to build some blue chip shares ($XOM, $T, $V, $F) into my portfolio, so most of that $900 is destined for those. Maybe a little $CLOV just for fun.

Well if you believe the tech will change the world and is the future of currency as I do you can, but imo you still have to be a sociopath to not take the profits at some point, or atleast a good portion.

I am very much a realist when it comes to this and not nearly as idealistic as wiki was. I still believe in it and it being the future that will change the world. But the realist in me knows that profit is profit and you take it and slowly build.

I have made plenty from crypto but not what I could have if I wasn't such a realist.

You think Bitcoin at $15 was speculative? I can remember when Bitcoin was under a dollar. It sounded so crazy (and useful only to money launderers) that I too dismissed it and never looked back.

Imagine reading Bitcoin was between 30¢ ~ 50¢ a coin. And knowing what you know now, imagine how unbelievably rich you’d be if you backed up the truck and went all-in.

I can’t think about it for very long.

My first buy was at 0.13 and unfortunately, although I am blessed, I am anything but unbelievably rich

Crazy to think that a 10 dollar investment then would have made you rich.

I have no idea why but I always get you and CE Tiger confused. Is it because you're also a CE? Obviously both of you talking about crypto isn't helping.

Backed the truck up? shite you’d have only needed to throw like $200 at it at those prices to be worth $15-20 million today

Truth. He convinced me late one night after a long discussion of the details. I always thought it was perfect for the dark web economy, drug lords, arms dealers and black ops money to be stored and moved.

Thought I'd throw $10k at some and consider it gone. Tried to buy that shite for weeks and gave up. Even revisited it later and then came to the same conclusion you did. frick it!! It may be good for them, but nobody's gonna do this shite.

Still tried to get some one last time. Then forgot about it for about 5-6 years. Oh well. I probably would've bought some bullshite fraud bitcoin, got all my shite hacked and be dead arse broke with a credit score of 000.12 now.

Haha yea I'm a CE too.

CE is good people, little ate up with the link, but I would be too if I called something at 0.25 and was now at $40.

I took a long arse break after the 2017/18 bull run and didn't really post much about crypto even before then but I been buying and selling for almost 10 years now. Obviously should be mega wealthy if I just held but I'm too much of a realist to do that unfortunately.
