ummmm....no, this is a little different, these guys actually had a thought of coming to LSU, and Mainieri actually knows how to promote the program.

I'm pretty sure that had nothing to do with the decision

Wasn't the actual deadline in like a week anyway?

All I know, is I couldn't imagine what to do with that kind of money as a 18 year old. One day you are a punk driving a beat up pick up truck, the next day you are a millionaire.

Talked to the Advocate. Sounds pretty gone to me.

Hey its disappointing, but it is what it is. I wish him all the luck in the world. We have a hell of a team coming back and some damn good recruits coming in, its not the end of the world.

End of LSU baseball program, forever. Tear down the new ballpark and make it parking for the football stadium. Fire PM. This program is done.

BTW, not a bad idea for ZVR to sign with Shitsburgh, seeing as how he will likely be a trade-deadline deal in 1-3 years to an actual contender, because no player worth a damn actually sticks around Shitsburgh for any length of time.

BTW, total sarcasm about LSU baseball above- my point is that no one player is bigger than our program. We will be just fine without him.

Von Rosenberg was quoted in the advocate the other day saying he completely understood the decision and all. Think it was about a week ago, maybe someone could link it.

I think he made the correct decision for his career. It sucks for LSU. I would really liked to see what he, Renaudo and Matulis could do as our three weekend starters. Oh, well.....

I know the guy who works as a repair man grease monkey at Bryan Chevrolet who calls in to Richard Condon on Monday will rag the guy, but anything over a million is a very good reason to sign a pro deal.

yeah 5th, he had one of the most lucrative amateur sign on bonus at the time.

Who was the starting QB at LSU in 1994 when Booty finished H.S?

quote:

As quarterback for the football team, he threw for 11,700 yards and 126 touchdowns, becoming the first high school player in history to throw for more than 10,000 yards (all this despite missing the last four games of his senior year due to a broken hand). As a result of his performance Booty was named the USA Today Offensive Player of the Year and was named the National High School Player of the Year by at least six associations, including Parade and the Football News
