The draft hasn't happened yet, therefore anything anyone says from any team is all bullshite.

They've got a solid pass catching group IMO... Kendall Wright, Delanie Walker, Justin Hunter, McCluster, etc. They need OL help and a rushing attack... They were like 26th in rushing last year.

But yea I like the idea of trading back from the #2 spot for more picks. But might be hard to find a trade partner because its not that attractive this year. Teams wanted RG3 and were willing to give up a lot to get him. I don't think they feel the same about Mariotta. Leonard Williams, maybe. But that's giving up a lot for a DL. I could see a team trade up for Amari Cooper though.

That is the general feeling here in TN, but obviously that could change. Trading the 2nd overall pick for multiple picks seems to be the thinking.

They could probably get a lot of value for the pick, and draft some O-linemen and receivers, which they need so bad.

What is the general reaction in Nashville to going with Mett over drafting a QB with the second pick. As a tiger fan, I'm excited that they seem to be investing in him!

Winston
Mariota

The risk/reward just isn't there

They're rebuilding....they have Mett he can do enough to keep the fans happy while they draft OL, DL, and DB's. Then when they can either trade or go for a big time number 1 they'll have the trenches. In the mean time I hope he can do some good things.

Get some OL to protect him and a couple of decent receivers.

This.

Mett can be a franchise QB, but he can't do it alone. No one can, see the Tom Brady reference on the first page

What I believe they will do is trade their 2nd pick for a bunch of picks. Then either in the 2nd or 3rd round I can see them taking Hundley or Petty and having them compete with Mett for the job.

but you cant scheme around a bad oline.

so true... So many things have to be clicking to have success on offense that the uncertainty of bad OL play just seems to almost suck the life out of players and coaches after a while.

Tenn was damned lucky that Mett was still avail where they got him and if they can find a sucker club who wants to sell their souls for one of those two Heisman QBs then tenn could build one great foundation for their future with this draft.

I would love to see them pick up LC at a lower 1st round pick and load up on defense for most of their remaining picks. GOO METT!!

they should definitely trade for picks and build a good O line

It's not like the Titans are good QB play away from being a playoff contender.
Every team in the NFL is a good QB away from being a playoff contender. The talent is so close in the NFL. Even Oakland.

i hope they fleece an NFC team on a trade up (not the Saints). someone will probably fall in love with mariotta or winston.

trading down would be a great thing for the titans if they stick with mett.

They have more pressing needs than just a QB. Get Mett some talent at WR and some OL. The WRs can be taken in the second round so they should probably look at OL or DL

They have Kendall Wright & Justin Hunter. I don't really see WR has a pressing issue for them.

Now that defensive unit is pretty horrible.

They are both in the upward arc of their careers, but just in case, Titans may want to look at WR.

I really like Kevin White, but unless they pick him before the 20s, he is gone.

Eli retires, trade Mett to NYG, watch him throw for 5000 yards with OBJ getting 2,000 yards

Titans fans are some of the most logical fans I know, primarily because they spend all of their illogical fandom on CFB teams. Local thinking is this team is average at best at any given position right now. Trade the pick and move back. Mett would start if they drafted Mariotta anyway. The one thing no one up here wants is Winston.

This makes a lot of sense.

Objectively, Mett has everything you need to develop into a top-notch pro QB. Mobility would be a nice addition, but that really only serves to cover other holes in the QB's game, and might be a hindrance if he relies on it too much, as it will fade as he ages.

You NEED a superior arm, and several years immersion into the offense to excel. He has that arm, and a head start on any rookies.

Winston also has the tools, but might be a headcase; I really doubt Mariotta has the necessary arm.
