Bombay you are absolutely right. The sad part about the whole thing is that Miles did not see this coming. He got used by a kid. Just horrible. Manarie is gonna find out real soon what happened to Smoke Laval. He's headed down the same path. You gotta stay away from these kids being drafted so high.

We lose 2 kids who wanted to be tigers bc of this
Obviously they wanted to play MLB more for that paycheck. If they really wanted to they could have turned it down, they would not be the first kids to turn down money to attend college.
He was taklking about Garrett and Porter, both of whom wanted to be at LSU and were "displaced", in different ways, by ZL's presence. Pay attention !

I lost a madden 2011 tournament and got home and saw this crap. I really expected him to be here.

Miles can't be picky anymore, we have 2 scholarship QB's that are both juniors, rivers is not enough, we need to get another QB as soon as possible. 2 injuries at QB in the next 2 years is absolutely possible

Good for Lee. Les Miles is an idiot. He just got Josh Booty'd and should have seen this coming since Lee was as a prospect in baseball. All the best to Lee. He seized an opportunity. Too bad our football program is run by underqualified idiots. Piss poor planning. You're looking at starting another freshmen in two years an starting this horrendous cycle all over again.

You boys in a pickle? Miles just sealed your fate. I am curious why Miles did not renew the freshman QB's scholly?

Are you insane? Baseball came out great in this draft. And I would argue that LSU baseball got a more talented pitcher than Lee in the aftermath of the draft.
Don't confuse football's loss with thinking that baseball came out a big loser.

This isn't Les Miles' fault. Or Gary Crowton's fault. Zach decided to go to the MLB. It was his decision and his alone. Yea it sucks from an LSU standpoint. But if this was like your kid, or friend, or neighbor, you would be happy for them no matter what. Yea he kind of lied, so what? Yea a lot of people would rather go for a degree first so they can get a job in case it doesn't pan out, so what? We don't have any say in what he does, and nothing we say will make it feel any better. I wish him the best of luck (but since I'm a Diamondbacks fan, I hope the Dodgers crash and burn). He decided to make a lot of money for 5 years, maybe more, and thats okay. Our teams won without him before, and will again.

I dont think many are suprised but we do have a situation now. Shepard will need to take snaps just in case. I aint saying he will START, but we are thin and suspect at QB. Gonz, probably has packages set aside for him at QB already, but might want to incorporate him more if you know what I mean. This is a huge blow to LSU.

well that sucks
Best of luck to him

Dodgers and Red Sox gave it to us raw today. From this day foreward, I am officially a Yankees fan.

lol how many of you on here bashing miles were saying these same things a couple days ago? if he hadn't of signed with the dodgers would all of you be getting on here and saying how great of an idea it was for miles to recruit him? nope, just another opportunity to bash miles. we took a chance on a kid and it back fired. greatest risks yield the biggest rewards and it just didn't pan out for LSU this time. ya'all need to stop moaning over the kid who left for the MLB and start getting behind the QB's we have now.
the season hasn't even started yet and a lot of you are acting like we're fricked. i personally think either JJ or JL will be able to get it done for us this year based on a much improved running game and an improved o-line. so chill out with the doomsday prophesies please.

Bottom Line: He used LSU as a pawn and as leverage to put more money in HIS pocket and has left us up shite creek without a paddle.
You are a moron.
He turned down $2.5 million because he wanted to play at LSU.
Would you turn down $2.5 million? I wouldn't have.
Now you are throwing a hissy because they doubled their offer and he took it?
GFY!

Well shite. I hope he does well in the MLB. : /

Would have loved to see him in purple and gold but gongrats and good luck that's a lot of money
Posted on 8/17/10 at 1:37 am to GoldenTiger85
so that means Les Miles has lost 2 high caliber QBs in Chris Garrett and Zach Lee
