This is on Miles and Crowton. Putting their eggs in this basket was stupid last year. And now one of the top programs in the country has QB problems and depth issues. Anyone who thinks Chris Garrett wasn't good enough to play here is just looking through Purple and Gold Glasses. He left because he wasn't getting a legitimate shot to compete for the job. And off of last years QB performances the competition should have been wide open and Crowton should have been trying to keep him not giving him reasons to leave. This is a D1 program that is 2 deep at QB. And both have been mediocre at best. As long as Crowton is here this will continue.

Anyone blaming is parents are complete idiots. Just because ZL decided to sign a pretty nice contract and not play for LSU this people are crying. School is important and all, but what do we all go to school for anyway? To get a better paying job right (for the most part).
If anyone on this board says they would have not done what ZL did they are either lying are just plan dumb.

Over 5 million is a crazy offer

LOL. You got to be joking? Wanted to be a tiger? So if you were going to make a career out of whatever it is you do, you telling me you would do it for free for a few years and not accept a once in a life time opportunity to make big bucks in your career of choice?

I'm happy for the kid. He got a huge contract that none of us would've turned down. It is a business and he would have been retarded to turn it down, he would only have gotten more if he was a first round NFL pick or a top 3 MLB pick in 3 years. No way you risk it.
Good luck kid.

Will have to agree with you. Know for a fact that you are correct in the reason CG left - - never given the chance to compete - - it was NOT because he didn't have the WANT. The lies will come to the surface at some time and CG will have the last laugh on his WANT to compete. Now LM and GC can eat their words and their actions. 2 qbs on an SEC football team - - what were they thinking??? GO DEMONS!!!

Some people arent taking this seriously. Wait in 2 years when we are losing games because of QB's and people will see why this was a big deal

This whole thing is ineptness on the part of Miles. You do not rely on a kid who is facing a possible 5 million dollar contract. You assume he isn't coming and you go out and recruit another QB in that year. We won two National Championships with two good QB's that new how to manage a game not because they were Payton Manning. This is absolutely stupid. A D1 program that expects to compete in the toughest conference in the country didn't recruit a QB in 2010. Inept and unbelievable.

I am not patting ZacK Lee on the back.
Bottom Line: He used LSU as a pawn and as leverage to put more money in HIS pocket and has left us up shite creek without a paddle.
All you people sucking his arse like he actually gave a frick about LSU are a joke.
Good riddance.

This. And as far as getting an education, you can bet the farm that his contract has a nice provision providing money for a college of his choice when he is done with baseball.

What if LSU finishes 11-1, wins the SEC and goes to the NC? Everyone keeps saying what about this and what about that, but what about IF our Tigers are actually successful this year?
Posted on 8/16/10 at 11:33 pm to TigerinSoCal
So it is a 5.25 million signing bonus spread out over 5 years. Now what is his base salary? 50k a year?
Still more than many with a college degree and not bad for an 18 year old.

I think you got it exactly right. With the problems LSU has had at quarterback, recruiting a player that had a very good chance of playing pro baseball wasn't such a great idea. LSU needs a competent quarterback, not a great one. They won National Championships with Mauck and Flynn. This could be a real problem longer term.
