Jay should have pitched him one of the two West Virginia games when we were up late to help build his confidence. We knew we would likely need him at some point to win it all.

Now go ahead and post the more realistic options that didnt pitch in the last 4 days that are clearly better
Rizy, Mayers and Noot all have good stuff too. But they all have the same two issues that Cowan has had lately- inconsistency and lack of mental toughness. We’ve watched all of the above deal from 1-3 innings when they are on. We’ve also seen an all of them melt down after one thing goes wrong and look like high school pitchers out there.
I know we all saw Cowan look great for the first 2 1/2 months of the season, but it’s been a while since he’s really been on. Right now, he’s in the same kind of head space as the other 3 I listed. And he’s being handled similarly by Jay at the moment.
We are likely going to need at least 2 of those 4 to contribute along with Cooper Williams and even Primeaux for a batter or two to win this thing, and that’s pretty much a guarantee if we lose tonight.

Noot not as much as the others.

And we saw him look great in another uniform

If he can handle business tonight, he can possibly sit back, enjoy the tournament, get a ring, and not even have to pitch again

If LSU gets to the 9th with a small lead (1-3 runs) I think there is a pretty good chance we see Eyanson try to close it out. Using him to lock down a win would be FAR more important than saving the 10-20 pitches he would have to throw. That, even combined with the 40 pitches he threw on Monday wouldn't hurt his ability to start on Sunday.
Another thing to consider is that if you win game 1 of the championship series, you can hold Eyanson until Monday. That would give him another four days of rest from today's abbreviated outing.

Or you can just convert him to a closer type role at that point. Let him close tonight and the Saturday game if Anderson leaves with a lead and then do the same Sunday or Monday. You have multiple options if you ensure a win tonight

I’d say after about the first inning or two our guy found his location of old

Yep. It all comes down to if he’s locating, his repertoire is good enough to give us 5 innings of 1 run ball if he locates with the different pitches he throws.
