Sure had me fooled. I could have sworn based on your posts, you are knighting from within the LSU Foundation building itself.

I don’t know what a “remdinder” is but I don’t want one. That colonoscopy was bad enough

I set-up a monthly recurring donation to the LSU Fund as a result of this thread. Keep up the good fight!

Don’t write checks directly to the university.

Just a point of comparison. The University of Michigan (which was founded about 50 years before LSU) has an endowment of about $11 billion.

The report last year had LSU in the bottom four of the SEC in monies donated to the university outside of athletics.

boxcarbarney is 100% correct. Contributions need to increase bigly.

I also agree FKing needs to go. He is going to drive the academia into the ground.

Please send to the state legislature. Charity begins at home. And, you get what you pay for!

I support LSU athletics, but as an academic institution, frick that place. They'll never see a penny from me the way they screwed me over.

Do you disagree?

This is the kind of ignorance that makes people believe the country can support free healthcare, free college, higher social security benefits, and so on.

example, a corporation makes 15 billion profit in a quarter, many people think that company can pay more per hour, give more vacation, better Healthcare.

They never look at the other side of the balance sheet.

If that company only profited 3%, and Labor goes up 1%, taxes go up 1%, healthcare goes up 1%, Profits just went to zero.

Professors have a lot to do with this mindset.

Many teach wealth is bad and if it's not redistributed its unfair.

Social justice is theft.

Don't think that post is appropriate for this setting. There are a lot of average Joe's on the website that work their butt off everyday to make ends meet. You need to take this post somewhere that's more appropriate! Good luck trying to convince LSU fans to contribute to a fund that has a half a billion dollars in it!

I don't donate to LSU because I don't trust the leadership. I have the money to do it and when I see the numbers, I feel guilty. But then when I go to write the check, I think about King Alexander and the BoS deciding where that money will go, I back out.
F. King won't be here forever.

Your donation will be in the Foundation's Endowment Fund forever.

Only the earnings from the fund, not the principle you donate, can be distributed for scholarships, improvements, distinguished professor endowments, etc.

C'mon, give fifty bucks. You'll feel good about it....

In principle, you're right. (But it's "principal").

My wife and I made an agreement almost 20 years ago to give as much to the LSU Foundation annually as we spend on our football-MBB-baseball season tickets. That's why now, in our retirement, we still have not made a trip to Europe.

Good on you, but frick giving up my retirement goals for donating to LSU.
