It was patently obvious after that game that Miles wasn't and never would be Saban's equal, wouldn't ever bring us another title, that the program was riddled by the tumors of his antiquated stubbornness and tactical bumbling. so finishing #2 in the country, playing in a national title game and our 1st undefeated sec season in over half century proved to you miles would never win another title at lsu?

I mean I know he never did but to say that the 2011 season proved Miles couldn't win a title at lsu is pretty disingenuous.

we played at bama in 2013.

you're thinking of the 2012 season.
we had a lead with 1:27 left in the game. bama had 260 yards of total offense up to that point and Chavis goes cover 3 zone.

Jesus Christ, you Pavlovian sycophant. No, what proved it was his utter inability or unwillingness to adapt his game plan either before or during that game. He pridefully and stupidly clung to his outmoded ideas. And then he pridefully and stupidly clung to them for another five years, to the program's detriment and his own. It was the singles dumbest display of arrogant, inflexible coaching I've ever seen.

And yes, I did in fact think exactly that as I walked out of the Dome. And I was right. We didn't win jack shite under Miles ever again. No NCs, no SECC, no SEC West titles, no major bowl games. Nothing.

And then we replaced him with someone totally unqualified.

Yeah LSU.

1. UF vs LSU in Omaha last year, when LSU looked like they were coming back late in the game after Florida went to their 3rd SP, and with Lange good to go the next day, I could almost sense that things were going to work out perfectly for LSU. Then slaughter gets called for interference and LSU fails to score again. When UF got that hit to bust it open the next inning i started to have chest pains.

2. 2012 bama football game.
I was there for that game, and after hearing all week that LSU had no got against bama and that it would be just like the Bcs game, LSU comes in and looks like it might get ugly in the first half, but then LSU takes it to bama for a good 99% of the second half. Then chavis decides to roll out the prevent D.

if losing a national title game, in a season with 1 loss ,makes you think a coach will never win another title again, you're literally the most negative person I've spoken to on here.

I get saying if after 2013 or something but damn.

And Alabama game in 1979. 3-0 loss in a rainstorm. Defense played lights out but the offense just couldn't get any points.

And the BCS title game 2012, of course. I was depressed for two weeks after that.

1/9 is a given.

The 94 Auburn game should be in the top 5 list of any LSU fan over the age of 35. You have to understand the context. We were in the middle of the worst losing stretch in LSU history, with many of those losses coming in embarrassing fashion. We were not just beating, but dominating a team who had gone unbeaten the year before and on a 13 game winning streak...in their house. We were turning the corner. Then Lynn Amadee happened and we lost in the most LSU way possible. Auburn scored 30 points without an offensive TD. Soul crushing.

Auburn 2006. We were jobbed that entire game and that team was probably the most talented team we have had in the 2002-2011 run. Them vs 2011 would have been an all time matchup.

National Championship 2012 should be number 1 for every LSU fan. That game has had a longer lasting effect than any other 1 game. It really broke the LSU Golden Era.

Honorable Mention: Losing to Arkansas in 2010 sucked with a trip to the Sugar Bowl on the line.

would put the 2006 loss to UCLA in the Final Four next as the biggest loss for the basketball team and third for the athletics program.

Nah that loss was a blowout but a bball team making of to the final four is a huge accomplishment and something nomome predicted us to do. I remember the wins over Duke and UT way more than the loss to UCLA. That was a dream season.

I'd put the 2000 loss to Wisconsin at a much more painful bball loss than that. That team was loaded and we just got bled to death by a frustrating Badger team that wasnt recognized as a bball power yet.

The 2000 season was a disappointment. 2006 is maybe the best in LSU history.

I will never forgive Les Miles for 1/9/2012. Moron looked like a deer in the headlights. The loss to Bama at home the next season when we led in the 4th and couldn’t stop McCarron on the last drive was absolutely awful as well. I was there for that cluster.

1/9/12 for me. Walking out of the superdome was fricking brutal.

Longest walk back to the hotel, even worse was we stayed at the Marriot where the whole Bama team and fan base stayed and rub in their celebration.

No contest 1/9/12 is the worst loss for any program ever. So yeah, that’s #1.

#2 would have to be Troy. Losing to Troy signaled the golden era of Saban and Miles we’re officially over.

Lea miles total laziness and unpreparedness for the 2012 nc and at Green Bay. I go all the way to see Wisconsin beat a more talented team because miles did not prepare them at all. No adjustments just like in the superdome. Miles has killed this program.
