2003 LSU national championship. I was in my teens and it was the first time I'd ever experienced such a dominant season. Plus it was great seeing my dad, born in the mid 1950's finally see something he's been waiting his whole life for (mind you he was only 3 during 1958 season). I remember sitting in front of the tv after the game (because I'm OT poor and couldn't get a ticket), and looking at my dad. He looked at me, smiled and said, "We're national champions," barely audible. I'll never forget that evening.

"Billy Cannon's 90 yard run against O'll Piss in 1958. I was there & the noise was out of sight! Went on to win the NC."

It was one of my favorites also and I was there. However, The run was in 1959 and we did not win the NC that year. We lost to Tennessee the following week. We did win it in 1958 as we beat Ole Piss 14-0 that year.

Warren Morris homer '96

LSU vs Kentucky in football also '96 (only football game I've ever been to)

LSU vs Stanford 2000 CWS

Ryan Schimpf and Blake Dean each hitting two homers in one inning. Tulane 09 (a nothing game, but it's just bad arse)

2003 National Championship Game...

The only thing that is better than being at the game as an LSU fan, was being at the game as an LSU student.

Not my most cherished but beating Kentucky in BB in 1986 to go to the final four was pretty frickin sweet. They had handily beat us three times during the regular season, and it just seemed like they were gonna do it again. When Blanton hit the late layup and started spastically waving his arms I knew the impossible had happened.

Although Georgia '03 and the BCS game in '03 top this one...

I'll never forget beating Duke in Atlanta in '06 in the Sweet 16. That was pretty friggin' amazing

Message Board cherry popping in progress. Beware of stains.

I must agree with many previous posters on their selections as most memorable moments in LSU sports history. I have been lucky to experience many of the moments you have chosen and will carry them with me for the remainder of my life. My most cherished moment definitely was created by a combination of it being my freshman year at LSU, Nick Saban's first year as head coach, an aura around LSU football that we still weren't a dominant football force as we are now, and perhaps one too many ziplock baggies to drink.

We beat a top rated Tennessee team in 2000 in Baton Rouge. We made our way down to the field. The goalposts came down. I rode one of them for about 20 seconds. That was my moment. Looking over the sea of LSU fans collected on the field of victory will unlikely be forgotten. FYI, we snapped about a 30 game losing streak in Tiger Stadium to Bama a few weeks later. Goalposts came down again.

Cherry.........popped

I like all that have been mentioned so far; they bring back great memories. The 1972 last second victory over Ole Miss with the Bert Jones to Brad Davis pass that broke many a Rebel fans' heart ranks way up there with me. I had a pretty substantial bet on that game and was absolutely delighted that I did not have to pay up, plus, it was a win over Ole Miss and nothing more needs to be said about that except, "Go to Hell Ole Miss, Go To Hell!!!

First game with my Dad in 1962. I was 3 years old and have been hooked on Tiger football ever since. Don't remember who played, but it was the start of witnessing many incredible games in Tiger Stadium.

Two outstanding games stand out, LSU vs Notre Dame, 1971, South EZ, whipped em! LSU vs USC, 1979, west box seats, whipped em! Well, almost....

2007 Florida game. When borne announced the USC score I almost fapped, and then Hester and the tigers fought back to rip Timmy's heart out. The best tiger stadium atmosphere ever.
And bama game 2010. Student section went bananas after the Peterson reverse.

There are so many. My no. 1 memory is the Cannon run in 1959. I only heard it on play-by-play. But, I had seen the 1958 Sugar Bowl game in person when Billy Cannon threw a half-back pass for a TD and LSU won 7-0 over Clemson. We were favored by 4 TDs in that game. But, as an older Tiger fan, I can say all of the plays mentioned were special to me. The Warren Morris HR was very special. AND, just getting a chance to watch Pete Marovich play (in any game) was special. He was way ahead of his time.
