My interest level in women's sports matches my interest level in men's sports and it has been this way since I have been in college (late 80's-early 90's). I am as deeply invested in LSU women's basketball and softball as I am in LSU football, baseball, or men's basketball. The wins are pretty much just as fulfilling in each sport, and the losses all hurt as much.

I still to this day think the most painful loss I have witnessed was the women's basketball loss to Tennessee in the Final Four in 2008. 1 point lead, 7 seconds to go...and give up a layup to lose the game . We would have beaten Stanford 2 nights later to win the title...

I used to like basketball when we had a coach, but when she got fired I haven't watch since. For some reason we have trouble with Basket coaches since Dale left on the boy's side.

WTF does this even mean? Did you mean to say they don't matter? What an overdramatic reaction.

Women aren't as good of athletes as men are. There is absolutely no debating that. The sports are flat out not as good.

I always love when guys who have never been around women's sports say that the women aren't as good of athletes. Nope. They are not as strong. They can't dunk as much. The 100m record holder will never be female......but I can tell you I've had a few teams who have made some boys go home crying after a softball/baseball game. Boys pitch to our girls at 60 feet. Girls pitch to the boys at 43 feet. typically, it results in a 10 run rule.

I cant stand when people say this shite. Yeah maybe when they are 10 and havent hit puberty yet. But in high school? Give me a fricking break.

I promise you, it fricking does. The boys can't hit it worth shite. And yes, middle school and high school.

Maybe I didn't specify enough...the boys don't get to hit with their oversized barreled bats. They have to use the girls bats, and visa versa. They do get to hit the girls oversized balls though. They just don't.

There has been tons of stuff on this. Finch has struck out some of the best hitting major leaguers there has been. It has nothing to do with the girls being better athletes. It's being used to release points, etc. But to suggest that the girls aren't athletes, or that they don't have to have as quick or quicker reaction times when batting or fielding, is fricking retarded and usually spouted by insecure baseball coaches or guys who never could cut the mustard and are afraid to admit that a girl could probably strike them out.

It's fricking science, and there is actual data to back up what saying. So please, tell me how little your dick is now...

There is not a chance on God's green earth that a woman could hit a highschool baseball pitcher who is even somewhat decent. It looks ridiculous actually. I have seen it done. They dont have the bat speed to even get the barrel through the zone in time

Lol. Do you think I would say this if I haven't done the same thing? This board is fairly anonymous, but I'm not a 25 year old kid who has never been around the game.

But there are so many variables. Good and bad pitchers on either side could make a huge difference and I didn't acknowledge that fact. I'm speaking from having "above average" female pitchers and teams, so it may not be a fair comparison.

The boys are clearly stronger. My point was just that these girls are really, really good on a ball field, and many folks would be surprised how they could hold their own.

You do realize that a girls reaction time has to be less than that of a boys facing similarly talented pitchers for age group don't you? This is my point. Many have zero fricking clue what they are talking about.

My sister played college ball and got some of the highest honors in high school ball for this area. She wanted to test exactly your theory and it backfired. First pitch I hit it right back up the middle and smoked her in the stomach.

You are either a liar or have no clue. Yes, the guys did struggle with hitting the girls. But eventually they get used to it. And if they practiced, the would obviously be 1000x times better than the girls. When the girls would try to face the guys pitching, there was no shot. Zero. None. All the practice in the world they were never going to touch it
