LSU Rugby won the Texas Rugby Union championship 3 years after joining it, with come from behind victory over Rice 24-8, March 1998.

This

My arcane one is March 1, 1980 at the Birmingham Jefferson County Civic Center, Men's BB wins the one and only SEC Tournament in school history beating UK (a #1 NCAA Regional seed later that year).

As earlier noted, the '85 NCAA Basketball Tournament run was good too.

Wow, there are some youngsters on the Rant.

LSU basketball win over Kentucky in '86 to make it to the Final Four as an 11-seed. Un-freakin-believable.

LSU basketball over Wichita State in the Regional Final in the Superdome in 1981 to make it to the Final Four. I've never heard it louder than in the Dome in that day.

'09 CWS at Rosenblatt. Because I was there.

Same for me but because we were not there. We were planning to go that year, but the whole family contracted the swine flu. This was when H1N1 was just hitting the US so our doctor put us on quarantine. We could not leave the house that week. That was the same week Michael Jackson died so that was all there was on TV at the time, except for the CWS.

The whole family watched every pitch that year. It was a great bonding experience for our family. Every day we would look forward to the LSU game. Since that year, even my daughter, who is no big sports fan, gets excited for the CWS if LSU is in it.

2001 SEC Championship Game. I had moved to Nebraska that summer for a job. The Children of the Corn had been bugging me from my 1st day there about becoming a fan of their team. They expected everyone in the state, even new-arrivals, to put on red polyester & denim coveralls & start cheering despite my not being from the state or never having attended the univ. Some of them were openly offended & hostile over my indifference to their overrated team. I loved the irony of their needing to root for LSU so their team could fall backside-first into the BCS title game.

Besides the obvious ones already mentioned...

LSU vs G. Tech baseball regional 1996. Just... Wow. 18 runs in one inning against them. The only LSU starter not to get a hit that inning was..... Warren Morris. He got 2 of the 3 outs that inning.

How about the LSU @ Arizona State game and the way it ended. First game after Katrina. Even though it was away, campus was wild.

Those can be sour.
In late '92 it seemed like I couldn't even recall "the last one" for LSU fb.
