I agree with everything you said.

At the beginning of the season, I predicted a 4 loss season due to QB woes. So far, LSU has exceeded my expectations, IMO. Its not perfect and I'd like to see some changes made on offense...

But I'm not going to run around and declare the program is on the decline. Yea, they got some concerns but who doesn't? When LSU starts looking like Michigan, then I'll declare they've fallen into mediocrity...

But I think its ok to be critical of your program to a certain point...

Basically, implying if LSU loses its ok because they'll still be having fun. Why the hell would anyone settle for that? I'm not saying stop supporting the program...but why would anyone be happy with that?
Proof that you are missing the point. YOU are reading that implication into it. None of us "old dudes" are saying that at all. We enjoy our team REGARDLESS of outcome. You are saying you only enjoy your team BECAUSE of outcome. Very big difference.

What's that have to do with Florida's overall record that year?

I took his comment to refer to Tebow.

I mentioned in my post that he commented to that Florida was 9-3 for 2 seasons of Meyer's tenure - the 2007 of which caused some heartache in Gator Nation.

Still - look at the 2007 regular season losses for them:
20-17 Auburn, finished #15
28-24 LSU, finished #1
42-30 UGA, finished #2

For frick's sake some of you are so short sighted. I'm not going to even get into a football discussion with you because it's like arguing with a five year old.
Well, if you wouldn't bring up hyperbolic 5 year old arguments like "you want LSU to fail" or "you want to fire Miles" everytime someone raises a yellow flag of warning or disaproves of the way things are being handled, we could probably have a decent argument.

quote:

But did any of you ever think that LSU might have learned that their young, mistake prone quarterbacks require them to call plays in a way that doesn't lead to a lot of yardage, but cuts down on turnovers?
Now this is actually a good argument, and you make a good point, there could be something there. I wonder why our own HEAD COACH, who is supposed to be the big, parental CEO of the program, can't make this coherent argument on his own. Perhaps that would settle down the natives a bit, but does he do it, no, he just mumbles about nothingness.

Overall (9-4) | SEC (5-3)

you know WTF I was talking about.

I saw it, and it brought me back from the brink for a minute...but I'm still worried as hell.

Funny how you kind of just gloss over 2004, which was a hard year for our offense. In 2004, people were talking about how long we could endure the "Saban Roller coaster" . You do remember that year don't you ? You remember Oregon state, right ? And Iowa ? auburn ? barely beating Troy by four points? a THIRTY point loss to Georgia ?

How about 2002?

You , like many others, have MYTHOLOGIZED the glories of the past while MAGNIFYING the negative events of today.

You seem like a fairly smart person, so hear me out. Do you really think anything positive would come out of the head coach publicly stating that the staff doesn't have faith in the starting QB? In addition to the obvious team chemistry and individual effects, what kind of advantage would that give to an opposing team? Admittedly they may be able to glean some idea that they may not have much trust in the QB from watching game tape, but it's an entirely different monster when the coach has come out and stated that there's a lack of trust.

Look at the stats. Look at how the offense is ranked last in the SEC. Dead last inexcusable! They're last in offense and a lot of other categories not the league standings.

you think this is OK, karma?

we have 2 NFL caliber RB, 2 WRs that will be highly drafted, and a 1st round pick at LT...

Forget how the fans feel, cause they are ticked off.

How do you think these players feel???

shite, I am feeling empty watching this offense, feeling that the coaches are not letting the team "leave it all on the field", then how do you think they feel????

How do you think the recruits see it????

Are the fans the ones that should really be watching their backs, so to say??

You may be speaking too soon.

What is your tone going to be if we happen to drop 2 out of our next 3 games? Or lord forbid, all 3??

Are those W/L totals from last year and this year acceptable at LSU?

is that what you have come to expect??? 4 and 5 win loss seasons???

Think about it. Any HC that does that sounds like they are either throwing the kids under the bus or making excuses...either way it does not go over well.

I don't think anyone would argue that 4 and 5 loss seasons are acceptable.

Hell, even Miles said that 4 losses are unacceptable.

Which is why I think these arguments are too premature.

Would I be happy with a 2 loss LSU team and a top 5 ranking? sure. I keep hearing Miles talk about this, and I hope to god it comes true.

But lets face it, the way that we play against OM and ARK in the past, I just cant start chalking those 2 games up as wins.

So we should prob save the lecturing for January if we have fans that are getting mad of a 10 win season.

Right now the record looks pretty, but deep down this has sort of been an ugly season. I hope they put some kind of stamp on this season that last 2 games.
