... In a nutshell.

1. LSU is still very much in control of its own destiny.
2. LSU plays at South Carolina this weekend. This can be a good team building opportunity.
3. LSU will then have a FIVE GAME homestand.
4. Win out and LSU can play UF again.
5. Winner of that game plays in the National Championship Game.

Step off ledge. Plenty of football left to be played. Sometimes a good butt kicking is all you need to get it all going. It worked wonders for UF.

You might as well get it through your head that this is NOT a national championship team

Ummm....we know these things already!! But the way they looked overall this past weekend, it will be hard-pressed to see them winning out unless they fix all the holes that were exposed on defense recently.

Even if LSU wins them all from here out they need lots of help to get into the BCS NC.

aka:Humiliating 30 point loss coupled with a suspect non sec schedule.

I will be happy with 8-9 wins, plus a bowl. I don't care which bowl.

I agree. We'll end up being 9-3 with an invite to a Jan. 1 bowl.

Agreed. I expected at least two losses this year, and more than likely three. This is a young team with a lot of inexperienced/underexperienced players. Without a solid QB to lead the team, you won't achieve great things. I think Lee and Hatch are good players, and next year Lee may be something special. But this year, 9-3 would actually be a good season for this team. Yes, I do want an SEC championship, and unlike most of the 90's, I now watch every game beleiving LSU can win the game because of the talent they have. However, I'm not getting too upset this year because two or three losses are to be expected in the SEC.

I want two more wins, Bama and Florida. Period. I know what we have to do to get those wins. Win the line of scrimmage. That's where we lost on Saturday.

I am gonna agree with you, this could be a great thing. This could be a time to reassess the defense and come back strong. This could be a time to really put together a strong gameplan for the following games. We just gotta trust that Miles will do the right thing (which he will)

Better hope it's not the Cotton Bowl. A Big 12 offense might make Saturday's arse whipping look like a friendly tickle.

...and promptly had their asses handed to them. I'm not sure I want to get into the BCSCG only to be embarrassed if we can salvage a respectable year and win a BCS bowl to be able to continue recruiting well. You get embarrassed too many times, and the recruits go elsewhere and you get embarrassed a lot more often.

The team and coaching that were on the field Saturday cannot win the BCSCG, and if they somehow can get back into the hunt, they'd damn well better have learned and gotten better.

Here's one thing I liked to see both yesterday and today--Miles directly challenging starters and upperclassmen without openly calling them out.

The closest he came, from what I've seen, is putting it on Lee and Hatch...and that's b/c one or both need to step up as there is nobody else viable.

Otherwise, I like the idea of benching someone who can't or won't retain coaching (Miles-We coached having help over the top on that 1st touchdown "like a son-of-a b**ch") w/ someone who can and will.

There is only one game that matters right now and that's the next game.

Fix the probs that were quite obvious at UF then we'll see what next week brings. Beyond next week is not open for discussion.
