OK but why would LSU care about that?

LSU wouldn’t. But they can’t force him to play. There are market factors for the players to consider that didn’t exist previously. The NFL is not the only market anymore

Why would LSU want to keep him an extra year in that case?

Maybe the wouldn’t. But look at a guy like Pavia. He’s not going to be an NFL player. He knows that. But he can make good money playing college football as long as he can.

I just think it more than that now. I think these Boosters place unbelievable pressure now on the admins to play players that they are invested in. Someone has money on Nuss. And that money on Nuss gets to continue working with him if he goes pro.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

I do hope it’s MVB though too, I think the guy can play.

I can tell you already MVB is not an LSU starting caliber QB at this time

That may indeed be accurate, but I am 100% certain you can not tell for certain that is the case if the kid never gets a week of prep as the starter, starts a game, and plays more than a half. And even then its too small of a sample size.

He has sense of urgency, even between plays, is a better than average runner, and throws a an average mid-range ball with decent if not great velocity. His accuracy is not bad for a guy who came off the bench with little to no practice reps, much less game reps, with the guys on the field.

Obviously, if that's all he has, he isn't the guy, I wish to hell he were given a start over a mentally and physically beat down Nuss to prove us wrong.

Well, they don't know who they'll have next year. MVB might take his talents elsewhere for next season... whether for playing time, money, or both.

Once the new coach comes in, there is a solid chance our starter next year isn’t even on the roster yet. It’s a benefit to LSU to play Van Buren because of mobility.

Yeah, but there's a chance he may be - this is the perfect time to find out just how much of a chance there is.

That’s probably what Ole Miss fans were saying about their D3 backup quarterback until he became the starter.

We're definitely going to the portal for our QB next season

It’s also what they would say about their 4th string walk on. Trinidad Chambliss is a 1 in 1000. I would not bet that MVB is the next him.

We did. 3 pts worth against a tired defense.

This is pretty much cherry picking data. He played pretty well individually, especially compared to Nuss has played this year.

He is not an accurate passer, but he gets rid of the ball and gives us a chance. We had tons of drops and penalties.
