You heard it here first! LSU beats Bama and Auburn beats Bama. LSU wins the West and plays Florida in the SECCG and beats Florida in a close game on a Colt David field goal in the closing seconds.
This next game against Alabama is Miles' program statement game. If he cannot win this game, there will be a negative impact on LSU that will affect the program for years to come. It will definitely affect recruiting. Opposing coaches will claim LSU is on the decline and that Miles is just another Larry Coker. That its true Miles was winning with Saban players. That Miles cannot coach up players. That Alabama in just 2 years under Saban has replaced LSU as the premiere program in the West (SEC?). Saban will use it to sway players both LSU and Bama are recruiting.
Win the game and all is right in LSU land. Recruting this year will end with major commitments and in the top 2, even number one possible. The LSU attitude and swagger returns to the players. The LSU fanbase will be infused with a shot of needed enthusiasm. This is the biggest none BCS championship game of Miles' career.
On paper LSU should be the better team personnel wise. Alabama was a 6-6 team in the Independence Bowl last year. THEY LOST TO NLU!!! LSU, on the other hand, is the defending National Champion, with a history of great recruiting classes over the last few years. This is the one game Miles should take personally and should do everything in his power to win. It is at home. If he cannot win this game, we have major problems.
LSU fans have waited for this game for two years. In the beginning everyone was confident that LSU would dominate Bama in this game. WOW, how times changed? Is Saban that good? I still cannot believe Bama is as good as advertised. Saban has to be the greatest coach of all time to turn around a 6-6 Bama team that lost to NLU. I am not convinced. I believe this Bama team will lose at least 2 regular season games.
And conversely, it will not speak well of Miles if with the personnel LSU has, he cannot win this game at home. It really is put up or shut up time for Miles. I have to believe he will put up. I believe Miles' river boat gambling will overcome Saban's conservatism and will make the difference in the game. A fake field goal, on side kick, 4th down gamble or some trick play at a crucial point in the game.
Also Crowton, with the QB he has to work with, will have to earn his keep. He has to design a game plan that does not expose the QB, yet is still aggresive. The BCS gameplan was sort of like that. The two TD passes to Dickson were wide open gimme's.
Defensively the Co's have to let the dogs out. It seems that over the last few years LSU has beaten Bama and their QB with blitzes. However, as many have stated, it would help if the blitzes were disguised. Put the pressure on Parker Wilson. Beat him up. Mr. Alem earn your 1st team All SEC DE spot in this game. By the way great great game against Tulane!

I think we can beat Bama if we call safe passes that even Lee can't frick up with his 8th grade level reads and we RUN THE GODDAMN FOOTBALL.

LSU fans need to get over this shite. The game isn't being played at 8:00 AM. 2:30 is plenty late enough to show up and scream your lungs out. If you need to be liquored up to do this, then go to bed early Friday, wake up early Saturday and start drinking in time to get in "game condition." I don't want to hear this shite anymore. Championship programs can beat anyone, anytime, anyplace.

I remember last year after LSU had lost its second game of the season late in the season, a gentleman came on and discussed the chances of LSU still going to the BCS Championship game. I admit it did not seem possible at the time. What was the response? See all of above.
Part of being a fan is envisioning the best scenario for your team. At least I provided some reasoning. Agree or disagree. No one knows for sure. Time will tell.

Good to see people already writing this game off as a loss.

how can you guys think your going to beat bama? Put the bama vs UGA game on. and then put the LSU UGA game on. see alabama is not a flashy team like florida ttu oklahoma usc. they run the ball down the other teams throats and have in my opinion the best defense in the country. i dont care that USC has three shut outs against cupcakes in that mickey mouse conference they call the pac10. this years alabama team is as good as ive seen from them in a while. they dont make mistakes. they have a qb who isnt going to be in the nfl but he never takes his team away from winning the game. I think you qb's this year are the only reason why you guys arent good. but i still dont think les miles has any idea what sport hes playing and still playing with a ton of sabans talent and talent that he got from saban being good for a few years. im not saying bama is going to win but im going to say that ill be very surprised if they beat themselves in this game. this is the first time in about 8 or 9 years where i feel confident playing against you guys.

I think we could and should beat Bama in Tiger Stadium.
I expect a great gameplan and our most stubborn running game of the seaason. I don't care if we score 0 points in the 1st half, we need to pound the rock and use our 3 RB's to soften that defense.
