Going for it on fourth down is a perfect example of someone who has faith in their team

You’ve never heard of a coach going for it because he has no faith in his defense?

Kelly said he went for it bc the analytics say you should. So it was the right call. I personally don't like it but I want my coach to use the numbers in those situations.

It was the first drive of the damn season

Some of you guys will say literally anything to try to prove a point. Even if it doesn’t make sense

You’re deflecting because your premise is false.

Disagree. He had faith that his offense could go down the field and score, putting LSU in front.

If he had faith in his offense he would’ve taken the points knowing we’d continue getting more chances to score. You don’t blow your load on the first drive of the season when you’re confident in your team.

Well we were 120th in the country in 4th down success rate last season so the numbers worked out about like you’d expect.

He does that because he has no faith we’ll get enough chances

That doesn't make any sense. They drove the whole field on their first possession. Why would Kelly's thought be "gotta get a TD now because we're never gonna get to the red zone?"

And. if I didn't "have faith" in my team I would take the field goal every time. You don't take the more difficult option with something you don't have faith in.

Not defending the decision. My knee jerk reaction in the moment was.... I think we should kick the fg but LFG!!

I'm just saying your argument doesn't make sense.
