Look at the main issues yesterday and you will plainly see the Dis were awful. We have the BEST DB recruiting year in and year out.

So, if Delpit is injured (I honestly think he has been most of the year), then bring on another high 4* or 5* guy.

Like who.... talent drops way off when he goes off the field.

Hell, people have been roasting Kary Vincent all year and look what the pass coverage looked like when he wasnt on the field.

I think all this has to do more with our defense being gassed in the 2nd half of games because if how many possessions they have to be on the field. The spread game is tiresome. Thank God we have Joe!

100%. Defense needs more depth and will get it. Hopefully that happens before we play auburn florida or bama.. oh wait...

Seriously, someone list the defensive 2nd and 3rd team players.

I'm curious, plus a hurt player that cannot perform (Delpit for sure) is worse than a kid who is trying to ascend the depth chart...

No reason for them to be gassed coming out of halftime and give up scores that fast. Late in the 3rd and into the 4th, yes, but not coming out of halftime.

Lawrence, Fehoko, and Chaisson were all 5-star recruits on Scout and Shelvin was a 5-star on Rivals. So either they aren't living up to their billing and were overrated or there are some coaching issues.

We had a 6 minute edge in TOP. That excuse doesn't work anymore. The greatest way for the D to get rest is not let teams drive the field.

There are some real holes in the defense. Choose to look or not. Your choice. Aranda is a very good coach. We will be better next year defensive stats are skewed because we score so quick

Delpit is just all kinda messed up this year. Started really bad then started coming around mid season and then was putrid against bama and ole miss. The last two years he was one of the surest tacklers I'd ever seen, his rugby style tackle and roll would get em every time. This year he's completely whiffing on people and last night his angles were terribly off. I don't know what to say about it but he's not right.

We had lots of Miles apologists blaming talent for our lousy offensive performance. It wasn’t talent, it was coaching, as we now see.

Same for our defense. LSU has plenty of talent, certainly more than Ole Miss. Talent has never been LSU’s problem. It all starts and ends with coaching in football.

And he may be really good in a couple, but the CB we played is 6" 2" and 160, and looks nowhere near ready to play now.

Delpit rolled his ankle pretty badly two games ago. Did everyone forget this? He looks just slightly better than Tua pre second injury out there right now. He needs to sit the Arkansas game for his own good.

Delpit cannot be healthy or he’s just not very good.

Then a 60% Delpiut needs to sit out.

Who else can we insert at S?

Delpet coming in run support, from the deep safety position, has not been pretty this year.

Delpit in the close LOS slot coverage has worked better, for both run support and pass coverage.

Delpit got exposed and it wasn’t just last night.

The one negative thing I can come up with abt O is the lack of depth on defense that has been there since he took over. There is a big dropoff after the starters and honestly, Shelvin and sometimes Lawrence are abt it on the DL. Which is Orgeron's speciality. We have had depth issues on the DL since 2015 and it still isnt fixed. The 2018 class isnt going to help much. Unless he gets some Juco guys in there, next season the D is going to struggle. I think Shelvin is gone as well as Delpit and Fulton, of course. Not sure abt Chaisson, but unless Divinity comes back, quality depth is going to still be a problem. And we will be young in key spots.

This.

Losing Todd Harris for the season hurt more than we thought.

Delpit is a SS/box safety not a FS/deep safety. That is why his angles are off more this year than last year. Also; playing hurt is part of his drop off from last year to this year as well.
