So Auburn did what LSU fans want LSU to do for 1908 and even 1936.
LSU fans are very correct about the fact we should claim 1908. I am unaware of anyone who would venture to claim 1936.

Alabama has generated several so-called National Championships that no one else recognizes! Guess Auburn would try something similar.

Ole Miss claims some questionable "National Championship" in football, as well. Nothing from the major polls (AP and UPI (coaches poll).
1959 Dunkel, Sagarin, Billingsley & Berryman
The term "Berryman poll football" refers to the Berryman Quality Point Rating System (QPRS), a mathematical formula developed by Clyde P. Berryman to rate sports teams, including college football teams, to determine national champions.
1960 Football Writers Association of America
1962 Litkenhous
The Litkenhous Difference by Score Ratings system was a mathematical system used to rank football and basketball teams. The Litkenhous rating system was developed by Vanderbilt University professor Edward Litkenhous Jr. and his brother, Francis Litkenhous.

Yep. They won the Golf Digest National Championship trophy in 04
To be fair those inbreds would have a better claim in 2004 than 1958.

It’s quite embarrassing, we shouldn’t even care.

Another reason why we shouldn’t clam 1908.
