Just wanted to give my opinion for us to maybe find a solution. But here is the main issue. For whatever the reasons, 80 % of the crowd does not want to cheer and be loud. So what happens is that people who do want to cheer are being looked down upon or shamed because one they are out numbered and two it's like you're not supposed to act that way. This is discouraging a lot of people from cheering. What we need is a culture change and honestly I'm not sure how to do it. After everybody suggestions, the one thing I do agree with is the students need to be moved and they need more tickets. They are the lifeblood of the crowd.
It makes no sense LSU has such a terrible home court advantage in basketball. Because we are so great at it in football and baseball. Something definitely needs to be fixed.

Move the students and bring back the old days. NOBODY had a better home court advantage in the Daddy Dale days.

What happened to the days when we would pretend to read a newspaper while they announced the other teams lineup, then crumple it up and throw it on the court when they announced ours. These students are piss poor and have no creativity

It's the demographic. College kids go home or go to NO on the weekends, and the place fills up with 70 yr olds that just sit there.

That's why general admission should be in a lower section where older people act crazy like the students. What Auburn did is a great idea. Hard to cheer at a game when someone is yelling for you to sit down.

They’ve been doing that this year.

Some people mentioned that it’s the nerds and we need the drunk kids down closer..
I don’t think this is the case at all...basketball is a short game and I don’t think alcohol is a key component like it is for football... you think the students in the ACC and Big 10 are wasted for a 10AM tip? Some maybe but those arenas are rocking no matter what. It starts with surrounding the court with students and them making noise throughout.. yes we were blowing out SC but that place should have been rocking with all the dunks being thrown down

We have won 17 straight home games. So your upset at the atmosphere not the results, because regardless of how loud it gets we have a significant home court advantage when it comes down to W's and L's.

Move the students back to their traditional spot.
Seriously, has Joe Alleva ever been asked about this? Does he think we have a good atmosphere? He probably doesn't want to displace the big donors who now pay for those courtside seats. But we have a great team, and this needs to happen.

They moved the student section because the students weren’t coming to the game. If they start coming consistently they may move them back but it can’t happen in the middle of the season because those tickets are probably already sold.

When the camera panned to the student section last night many of them were staring at their phones instead of making noise. There's part of the problem right there.

Saints weekend! Maybe next home game will bring more noise. I would like to know the attendance at the game. Looked like many empty seats.

I am sure all of these “non cheering” people have bought tickets for a long time....Johnny Jones eraincluded..... so the bandwagon people all of a sudden want to sit in the front row....funny.....these are the same people that if the team gets behind by 10 points or so...they will be the first to leave.....please...give me a break.

The students did not even fill up the student section yesterday. 300 leve in the student section was 1/2 full.

No they haven't

Following the auburn blueprint would be a good move IMO. They immediately turned into one of the best home court crowds in the league. If it doesn’t work well you can always move the students back to where they are now

Finally... some people with common sense. Nice to meet you all. Every time I brought up anything to do with the crowd yesterday I was basically told to shut up. That they are winning. That is all that matters. Which is great. But the problem is the rest of the country, not to mention the recruits, both basketball and football, see and here there is no crowd cheering. And the crowd is a big advantage energy wise to get the team through tough games. But no one seemed to agree with me so what do I know.
