And perhaps it's time we started to list Ronnie Vinson in that group of impressive second year defensive backs. Vinson made 10 tackles and added an interception.
loaded. stacked, or some other superlative to describe the secondary.

Mett will be the starter after the Oregon game. Bank on it.

No doubt Mett has the skills to be a great QB but he needs experience and reps....do you really want a QB who has yet to start a D1 game open the season as starter against a top 5 team?

JJ will not be benched until he loses us a game.

What I saw from Mett in Spring is he is going to be a stud. The problem he has right now is just the mental grasp of the offense. I can see why he is third string right now. He looks prettier throwing the ball but he isn't doing some basics...like knowing where to hand the ball off. That will come as he gets more comfortable with the offense. Hopefully, by the Fall...

My dream is for him to work his arse off and win the team this summer. He's got it physically..whatever this bullshite about not knowing how to run our tecmo bowl offense can be cleared up with some major work this summer. Hope it works out. I like JJ as a change of pace inside the 10 (only because I know Les will force him on us), but this needs to be Mett's team.

Mett goes 5/8 with a TD against our #1 D, QB rating of 195.
JJ goes 4/14 with a TD against our #2 D, QB rating around 90.

Tell me again who lacks a mental grasp ?

Dumbass, don't you remember the drill? He will ALMOST lose us a game and JL will come in and save the day,...well almost....because he will get us down to the goal line for the go ahead TD only ot have JJ replace him and run 2 clusterfrick plays and thensnap it over his head only to hit Mett who was running on the field to try the FG and our kicker(also on the field) will trip on the manager (the bench was yelling timeout)...so we will lose.......................well....not exactly......the refs will go to replay and realize the other teams flute player made a noise during the snap and that is a violation of NCAA rules so they will get the other team off the bus and bring em back and THEN we will do a double reverse flea flicker with a twist and have Mett catch the winning toss from JL.....then Les will pick his nose while Jill's is interviewing him with her tit hanging out from a scrum with our mascot.......
Or something real close to that.

JJ starts, and he probably will all year.

He had 4 TDs all seasons long (not counting the bowl game)

4 TDs, he almost doubled his entire production in one game.

We'll do our best impersonation of Florida with Leak/Tebow, though. What he said!

Which one does JJ compare to exactly? We did that with Flynn/Perilloux when we won the NC, JJ could play Perillouxs roll, maybe.

I thought Mett's TD pass was against the #3 defense. No?

When Mett threw his TD, Rockey Duplessis was the most experienced man in the secondary.

That said, Mett is the one that recognized the mismatch quickly and adapted. I'd bet they didn't call 'homey go long' on that play...it just materialized and he saw it. And made a good throw.
