In a vacuum, which brand of basketball did you enjoy watching as an LSU fan: Johnson/Jones era, or Will Wade era?

What they have done is sucessfully blackballed Wade, no matter how you look at it, intentional or unintentional. The whole system is corrupt so this is what we get, a circus. More hypocrisy, more lies. We interject morals in a system that has no place for this..Same with government. The issues that conservatives and liberals argue, contridict their bullet points on the very next issue.
Just turn a blind eye in college athletics and level the playing feild, pay kids under the table and dont ask questions, every school has rich boosters so kids actually will go where they want to go in the end
If a high school senior drives up his price with his performance then thats great.
But the issue is Uncle Sam aint having that, he wants his cut. Thats what this FBI thing stems from. Also these greedy control freak parents have to get in the way and demand more and more and sway the kids to make this shite about money so thats what it is. Some of these kids truly do want the college experiece knowing they are good enough for pro, but the parents push there ideals for their current situation on the kids. Oh i forgot, they are 17!
And people who get blasted like Wade are subjects of persecution by the guilty, who are jealous and engulfed with fear because of their own insecurities.

Yeah, hypocrisy. I've never been down for that. While I didn't like how things in football went at times, LSU in general has been tough on themselves. And we know this because x player can't play for us, but then plays for y team. Sometimes in your own division.
But, College basketball has been dirty. Football doesn't have these lower development leagues or side shows that the MLB and NBA have. They rely on a free minor league that is college.
Yet in my favorite sport, soccer. You can sign for a club at 9 and be brought up through their own system.
So I now have zero issue with LSU finally getting that piece of the pie in basketball. It's dirty, they are all dirty. And it's not cheating. When I was in HS, these dudes didn't even have to go to school. Just didn't. Kobe, LeBron. Two of the best didn't have to put up with this.
There is zero reason we as a country force athletes to universities. It's to make money. frick you money off the backs of others.

Don’t be silly. We all agree on that.
Season two isn’t over, and already Wade is unable to unite with LSU in a time of particular concern. LSU doesn’t need that. We’re a “big act.” LSU can find a coach who is good and can be more loyal than Wade has been.

For what it’s worth in terms of easing your conscience, adhering to bureaucratic rules, or not, has nothing to do with morality... despite what the government or regulatory bodies would like you to believe.

I still believe that in real life. I believe in truth, morality, honor, and doing the right thing.
College sports is not real life. It’s corrupt from top to bottom and any schools who win in the major sports are eaten up with corruption, money flowing, and players getting paid. We’ve seen in it football for years. It’s been all over basketball.
See, I don't have any moral problem with paying a player or his family cash if that is what the market dictates. Yes, it is a black market, but a market nonetheless. I think it is infinitely more morally bankrupt to pay for prostitutes on recruiting visits, or set up sham classes.

Yeah, Trent Johnson. Good on paper, but couldn't get us anywhere while teams in our conference cheated and beat us down.
And I went to a shite load of those games and sat and watched boring as frick basketball that is boring already. It's a farce when you have to foul, "cheat", to extend games. It's almost comical reading this shite when the strategy in basketball at the end of the game is to cheat.

I think XIV is either Joe Alleva himself, friends or family, a coworker, or could be F King. Because nobody else would go to the lengths that this guy is going to in defending them.

They paid players, too. Tim Quarterman is just one we know of from these same wiretaps. Don't be so naive.

For those of you whining about “the integrity of the university,” wake up and admit your complicity.
OUR complicity isn’t even really the issue.
You are dead on about the nature of college athletics, basketball in particular.
And anyone kidding themselves into thinking the former AD at Duke of all people doesnt know exactly what it takes to win in major college hoops AND THAT WASNT ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS HE WAS HIRED, is a joke and not worth talking to.
It’s Alleva’s complicity that makes his sellout of Wade all the more despicable, which wouldn’t surprise anyone who knows anything about his history.
Calling a meeting to talk about a Yahoo article that rehashed months old news because Dick Vitale got pissy on air?? That’s so Joe
Wait till Feinbaum weighs in on Monday. Joe might just cancel the rest of the season the way he did back in 06.
frick Joe Alleva and anyone trying to defend him can take a ride on his busted fricking nose for all I care

I posted a a clip of a paper from 05. Duke baseball got caught with steroids. Alleva didn't fire or suspend the coach, it was his buddy. He rode that out until it was found with proof. And this was from a guy that was 9-26. His buddy. Yet this frick threw the Duke lacrosse team under the bus and now LSU basketball.
He is the common theme with this shite.
