Absolutely nobody was expecting LSU to win the SEC vs Texas, UGA, Bama

First of all it was sarcasm. I posted it taking and exaggerating the extremely tired “year 3” concept.

Second of all we were absolutely relevant until the bama loss last year.

The 12 team playoff greatly expands “relevant” going forward.

Can we let the season play out? Yall trying to quantify and justify arguments that don’t mean a thing at this point in time. It’s whiney and you sound like a woman.

Unique take. This has never been discussed.

Ask yourself why Kelly doesn’t have us here yet

Sark had Texas 12-2 and in the Playoff year 3. He didn’t inherit a better roster than Kelly

Because Kelly botched the special teams, recruiting coordinator, and all previous defensive hires? (except the first DL coach)

You don't get to claim year 2 when you hire that many bad coaches

So you’re just playing the comparison game. Big 12=\=SEC & I’d confidently say BK will win more championships here than Sark ever will at UT

Being relevant for a 12-team playoff every year should be the absolute bare minimum at LSU, especially given the amount of money we invested in Kelly and his staffs.

Saying something stupid doesn’t necessarily make it identifiable as sarcasm on this board.

Anyone who thought we were relevant in 23 after Ole Miss was completely delusional.

Judging Kelly by year three means judging the progress of the PROGRAM. Kelly started in Dec right before signing day, so his first class was the 15 ish signees plus what he could get through the portal last minute. His true first class was top 7 and it looks like his second will be top three. Coaching Staff is in good shape now, and we’re building a roster to compete with other programs. Most people don’t realize, but total LSU NIL spend has been about $8m per year compared to $10m per year SEC average. That’s being addressed too. Three seasons ago, LSU finished 6-7 and started a WR as QB in its bowl game. I would say the PROGRAM is doing just fine.

I agree with several points on both sides of this argument. But one I get tired of seeing is what he was left with. If he had inherited a stocked roster, the fact is all those guys would be mostly gone by now. And with NIL it’s not a 10 year build. I think the biggest problem is BK said watch out in year 3. I think he was being optimistic

Haven't seen this logic used yet lol... this will be the new excuse moving forward. Some of yall are very clever.

2025 excuse:

"We lost Nuss to the NFL, starting a true freshman at QB, and replaced 4 of 5 offensive linemen. 2026 will be the year"

Regardless of personnel, LSU should go undefeated and win by 50 with a shut out every game. The mentality of the rant is just so realistic.

Y’all need to get with the times, we are seeing the results of young teams with little to no chemistry around CFB. If Bama losing to Vandy doesn’t tell you that, idk what will.

This roster was an absolute disaster when he took the helm.

That inherited roster had just beat a ranked A&M team, so the cupboard wasn't completely bare. Kelly's problem is his failure to recruit a defense.

Yes it was. It doesnt take much to do a little homework, rather than just cite a game LSU won.

Or lose confidence of fanbase for starters. Long way to go this season. Ole Miss game will tell us a lot.
