Kling is way too much swing and miss right now. Also think leadoff is just enough added pressure to affect him
I get you don’t want to take away his defense in CF, but have mercy on him come SEC play. Put him down in the order
Pearson has a lot of experience in big games and is no slouch speed wise. Another LH bat, I could see him getting some opps

Nope apparently there is no one else that is capable of leading off, not even Milam. And Neal in the 2 hole instead of 3? Don’t even think about it!

Kling has warts. There is just no obvious move right now. As everyone else has warts too or you create a heavily unbalanced lineup
The answer may be on the bench if anything

It looks like he is pressing and is not comfortable at all at the plate. I don’t think it would hurt to move him down, but Jay probably wants to give him every chance to break out of this. Everyone wants him to be the player he is capable of.

IMHO, its not just that he swings and misses, its that he swings as hard as he can on every swing. Its as though he has no concept of "just meet the ball and get a base hit" like the others have. Just swing for the fence! Even Tanks has that ability, if Kling does, he doesn't show it.

I have been saying all season so far to keep Kling there and let him keep getting those at bats. People can bring up his OBP all they want looking at overall stats, but the reality is the recent trend is more telling. Going back to the Texas game, which is the last 8 games, Kling has an OBP of .212. The only other player in my opinion to consider at leadoff is Milam. His OBP in the same span of most recent games is .412. So that argument for Kling isn't really valid at this point.
I think the person playing RF has an impact on the batting order. I will be curious to see if Kling is in the leadoff spot today. I am anticipating Milam to be there and Kling to be in the 7-9 spot in the order. I like Braswell in the 9 hole.
I think something like this would be an interesting mix:
Milam
Travinski
White
Neal
Jones
Brown/Pearson/Frey/Larson
Bingham
Kling
Braswell
Of course we know Jay likes certain matchups. So we don't really know who will be in RF and who will be C. So it is a little more difficult to make a lineup prediction.

Just swap Braswell and Kling and see if that works because Kling sucks at the leaf off spot.

That could be something they look at. I personally like Braswell in the 9 hole. His overall OBP is the 2nd lowest of the regular starters, but when you look at the last 8 games his OBP is .400. So that is maybe something to look at but I still rather Milam leadoff if not Kling.
Another possibility is Brown if they want to play him in RF. I just still don't prefer him over Milam or Kling.
