That is all that needs to be said regarding this age topic.

Oh, and by the way, Coach K at Duke is 74.

You do know that Saban has been there for 14 years, right? You do know that Krymeariver has been at Duke for 40 years, right? They weren't just hired as old men, who have already retired because they were tired.

i'm specifically talking about a legendary coach coming out of retirement.

LSU is a better launching point than Carolina. Clearly you missed the point of what i said

It was to cite that I already posted it in another thread.

Don’t overthink it.

The point of the post was to show that at 62, if you take the mean age between the 3 coaches I listed, you get to 74-75, which is 12-13 years out of Casey. This is all IN THEORY. This proves that the age of Casey is not a deciding factor.

He's a college baseball coach jackass. Does a doctor stop becoming a doctor at 62? That's his field, and a very accomplished one at that. He's still doing stuff for osu in their athletic dept as we speak as a assistant to the AD. You act as if he's dying or something. He's been involved with athletics this entire time and still has the abilities and qualities to be a head coach.

You could have saved yourself a lot of work because unless each of those coaches burned out and retired before 60 then it’s irrelevant to the conversation.

Do you know him better than he knows himself? Because he doesn’t even know if he still has it. Are you calling him a liar? We aren’t just speculating, he’s mentioned it multiple times.

Just disregard the other thread and discuss it in this one.

Nick Saban never retired and has won 7 national titles and is without question the greatest college coach, in any sport, of all time. You are comparing apples to a fricking Ferrari

We're comparing and elderly man in a stressful job to a less elderly man in a less stressful job.

It's apples to apples.

You do know that they are the black sheep/outliers. And also some of the best to ever do it.

Their standards/capabilities to do not apply to coaches like Les Miles, etc.

You do know that Saban began building Bama at age 57 or so and that Coach K began building Duke at age 33 or so, right?

He’s a former college baseball coach that hasn’t coached in years jackass. But since you compared him to doctors, if I’m going under the knife - I’d more than likely choose a doctor that’s been constantly practicing his field than choose a former “good” doctor that retired because he was tired and couldn’t give 100%.

You’re an idiot!

Also your user name says all I need to know about your opinion on coaches!

You do know that Nick saban is the goat and keeps finding a way to get better. He’s arguably better now than ever. That’s scary.

What a stupid point. I’ll concede that if we can get the greatest coach of all time that his age MIGHT not matter. What in Casey’s background suggests he’s as good as Saban or Coach K?
