I suppose Dawkins is trying to show how rampant corruption is in college basketball and that it was the coaches driving the boat, but from this phone call it seems as if it was Dawkins and his cronies setting the price and holding the players ransom.
He is trying to prove he did not commit bribery. I don't know how the tapes execute this defense but I'm sure it relies on saying the entire system is built upon players receiving $ and that his actions were in no way an effort to shortcut that system.

You really think Saban would talk about this over the phone?
Personally, I don't give a shite if Wade offered the kid money. I hope y'all don't get hammered, but talking directly to this Dawkins guy on the phone was a rookie move.

Right, but it seems odd he would be using a tape on which it's clear Wade's offer was not satisfactory and Dawkins wanted more. I haven't followed the underlying case much, so I'm not sure of the particulars, but it just seems like the tape would be bad for Dawkins if anything.

Agreed!! It was a very dumb move by Wade regardless of what happens!! Any dumb shite knows not to talk openly on the phone! I love Wade but he really fricked up here!

Didn't the NCAA recently change their rules where they can use testimony in other court cases for the their cases against schools? Also I believe if they ask for information and you fail to provide it they can use that as a sign of guilt.
The FBI doesn't ask you to come testify if they don't already know the answers and have proof of the questions they are going to ask.

Talking about doing something and doing it are 2 completely different things. Anyone who thinks he's "gone" because of this doesn't know what they are talking about. had more on dale back in the 80's. One of his coaches gt caught with a suitcase full of money.
