And what were you originally charged with? Did you plead down to 2nd degree?

I recieved 2 years probation (served 1 due to good time) court fees, lawyer fees, probation fees, as well as 12 angermanagement classes which I had to pay for. I broke a mans jaw, eye socket, and cheek bone and the sentence was reduced to simple battery which is what i see happening for these guys if convicted.

I was charged with 2nd degree battery but got it reduced to simple battery. Most anyone with a lawyer will get it reduced as I did with cooperation.

Bruce Lee never advocated kicking a man in the head who was down on the ground. You should read his tao.

On WAFB's Facebook they have a video of the players going into the meeting. It's 4 players not 10 like someone said previously.

People have gone nuts on here for a kick to the head. I guess they don't realize hitting someone in the eye, face can do lots of damage.

Most cases get plead down. What would simple battery be plead down to?

Yes I punched a man one time with my fist and got charged with a felony 2nd degree battery. The ONLY thing that matters is did the person cause PERMENANT damage (in my case a plate having to be put in the mans cheek)

Simple battery is the lowest of battery charges thus it can't be pleaded down only the sentence can. Whether this is a 1st offense for these guys will mean alot.

If what I heard is true I think the marine could have charges pressed against him for slapping someone inside the bar. I would imagine that is doubtful since I believe the fb team would rather everything just get swept under the rug.

While I believe what I was told I still have my doubts somewhat b/c I would think his lawyer would advise him to let it go.
