In the last yr & a half, UM's Fla team had 37 arrests. Not suspensions. Arrests. UGA under Richt has had 13 and counting.. CLM has had one, JJ, in the last 3 yrs unless I am missing something. Players are suspended for weed at every university in the country & most have more than one offense. With 70% of today's college kids admitting to at least trying weed according to several recent reports, 105 players on his team, none living in a controlled environment like a jock dorm, I think CLM is above & beyond in being control of his team. Even Herbie praised him for this.

Coaches have these problems with players at every
school. Check out Clemson, fsu, USC, Ohio state etc.
Les has more control over his program than most coaches,
but he can't babysit grown men 24/7

I'm in the OTHER half, if in fact your math is correct. I suspect that you pulled that stat from a place that warrants a good scrubbing and then thrown away.
i pulled the stat from this site and all the people that don't give a rat's arse whether miles does the right thing or not they just want to win at all costs.

No, as far as I can tell Les is doing ok. Some of his players frick up here and there, and yes they are still kids. However, they are on the cusp of adulthood and need to learn that they are accountable for their actions. They can still have the opportunity to learn that lesson while they are still young and in most cases the consequences are not life altering. Unfortunately, some never learn. RP, HB, Bobby Petrino, the coach at Alabama who never coached a game, etc. Seems to happen at all ages.

Has Les Miles lost control of the program?
Losing control of a program means allowing a child molester to inhabit your campus and covering it up. Losing control means you have players getting arrested on a weekly basis. Losing control means the players do not respect you and do whatever they please. These kids clearly love Les.
I personally love what Les Miles is and what he stands for. frick the haters. As a 2-time graduate of Louisiana State University, I would not want any other man running the football team at my alma mater. Anyone who disagrees can

I feel Les has handled these situations with class. I dont think he's been overly lenient or too quick to dismiss a kid for mistakes. I feel he genuinely loves his players and tries to help them until its clear that they wont accept the help and need to be dismissed (and then he still cares about them).
straight up the truth....very well said.

Les has more control of his program than 95% of all coaches......Addiction and stupidity are hard to treat, especially when they are synergistically working against you.
this, all of it.

Idiotic question in my opinion. What exactly seems out of control? A player was dismissed for breaking team rules. College students will break rules. Control is lost when you don't hold them accountable. Les just kicked a Heisman finalist off the team. That's a pretty strong demonstration of control.
nothing else needs be said.

If he had only suspended TM for a couple games, I would say the inmates were pretty close to running the asylum. I've never been a huge Les fan, but kicking TM off was the right thing to do. If this keeps 3 or 4 other knucklehead starters in line, it was worth it.

yet another reason why I haven't listened to WWL in over 5 years

I don't blame Les for the discipline problems, but I think it might be time for him to try something new. Because of the areas we recruit, we're never going to have a team full of choir boys.

Actually this shows he is in complete control of his team.
Posted on 8/13/12 at 11:53 am to The Mick
what he did shows he has control of the team
Posted on 8/13/12 at 12:19 pm to The Mick
He has total control- that is why he kicked off one of the top players-- give me a break wwl -- concentrate on the bounty hunter saints---

Kinda fun that the "home of the New Orleans Saints" is questioning our coach
