I would take Chavis over him too.

But it sounds like we could possibly have both.
I think he'd come to LSU over UT, La. being his home, if the money and position is equal

No he doesn't. Strong rumor that he is gunning for the LSU job.

This is not true. Working for LSU is Orgeron's dream job at this point in his career. If you asked him, he probably wouldn't say "dream job" per se, but he would definitely tell you that Louisiana (and specifically LSU) is where he wants to live and work.
Why do you think Tenn hasn't announced him as the Defensive Line coach yet? The obvious answer is that they haven't had time to, but the real answer is because he hasn't accepted the position yet because he's waiting to see if he gets a call from Miles and LSU later this week when our situation starts to shake out. He may very well not get that call given the recruiting rifts with Miles the last few years, but if he does I feel confident Orgeron will be our next defensive line coach.

He hates this school.
Quite letting stewart mandel book influence you....
Oregron is from the Bayou, can speak some damn fine cajun french, knows how to make a Gumbo, and likes to hunt. He didn't like LSU when he was the coach at Ole Miss because that was his job.

epic fail by Bebe. O was 10-25 and had more losses each yr. than Cut had in his WORST
yr.

The context of that back-and-forth was a comment by someone else that we as LSU Fans should not want Orgeron because of the shite he pulled at Ole Miss in regards to recruiting battles with LSU. My point was that you can't hold it against the guy that he coached and recruited aggressively against LSU while the head man at Ole Miss .... that's what the Ole Miss head man is SUPPOSED to do.

I agree. It's not like he was doing his recruiting out of spite. I haven't heard him use negativity toward LSU. Anyway, he sounds like he would be a good fit here.

my point was that he failed in all phases as a HC at OM. he sucked as his own DC for the first 2 yrs., and regardless of the legend/myth, his recruting rankings do not reflect ranking success.
if Les can hire him as a DL coach, i'm down. it would be a solid hire. no doubt.

I can't say Junior (bebe) hates LSU now but he had a distaste for LSU because when he played college football he wanted to play at LSU but when he was recruited LSU wanted to bring him in to play OL and he didn't want that his heart wanted to play DEFENSE so he didn't go to LSU, from things i've been told from family was that it left a bitter taste in his mouth. I guess when coaching ole miss it was in his heart to stick it to LSU now when it comes to coaching at LSU i can see it being a dream job because he'll get to coach the DL of the school that he always wanted to play DL for.

That's really not true. The Ole Miss team that beat us this year was stocked with his talent.
And these weren't all "high ranking" recruits that you can justify with your Rivals ratings.
Besides landing Oher, who is a future top 5 pick, he pulled these guys, who are all big time players for them:
Peria Jerry - 3 stars
Greg Hardy - 3 stars
Dexter McCluster - 3 stars

O substantially upgraded Ole Miss's talent.

i knew this but its irrelevant to the point of his disliking to LSU when it came to football.
re-reading the orginal post i should of said he didn't play football for lsu instead of saying going to lsu, but i meant it towards the relm of football.

In terms of his knowledge, recruiting ability, and coaching skill at the position: we haven't scratched the surface of "D-line U"

This would be the best all around hire at this point for LSU. From the standpoint of getting agressive play from the DL, bringing excitement on the sidelines and recruiting. Get it done Lesticles.
