His location was off last night especially with his FB. He could get it over for a strike when he needed to but he didn’t have the precision location that he normally does when he is dominant. Once they sat on his CB his FB location got him behind in the count too. Eyanson is really good and I expect he will be sharper his next outing.

It'll be interesting to see how other teams plan to hit Eyanson.

I big part of Eyanson's problem last night was constantly working behind in the count. That was very uncharacteristic for him.

It was fatigue. It was hot. He was on short rest after being a bit overworked last week. You saw him hit that wall at the end of the 3rd. He fought through it for a little while. But he was done when he was pulled (90ish pitches).

They are as bad a pitching and fielding team as we’ve seen all year. They were awful. I don’t understand how you can be so good at one thing and neglect every other part of the game. They literally couldn’t catch pop flies. They field like a bad high school team.

Not to take away from WVU, but eyanson clearly didnt have his best stuff either. The first HR was great hitting but a lot of what followed was a lot of mistakes from Eyanson, walked more guys than he used to as well.

The heat/humidity affected most pitchers who had to stay out there, you could all see them kind of hit that wall, especially when out there throwing 20+ pitches in an inning.

Their HC Sabins is only 38 and makes 400K/year. He was at Okie State. Someone is gonna scoop him up

Definitely, he is a solid coach. He better put some emphasis on defense and pitching. You won’t win long term being as bad as WV is at those facets of the game.

They weren't near as bad fielding over the season as they were this postseason. They had 13 errors over their last 5 games. They had 56 errors in the prior 55 games to that, so about 1 a game. To have nearly 3 a game in the last 5 all postseason games is brutal.

I’ll defer to you, but seeing a college level team not be able to catch pop flies is pretty bad.

He did fine the first time through the order when he lead with fastballs and then used the off speed to put them out. The 2nd time through the order, we were trying to get ahead using the curve ball and WVU wasn't chasing. Should've adjusted much sooner once we went up 6 and continued to start at bats with the fastball.

He really battled out there and has the heart of a champion.

The encouraging part is both of our aces had bad games this weekend and we won anyway. Hopefully they got the bad games out of their system and will have a couple of good games in a row. That combined with us hitting well could propel us to the title!

Only after winning that game we will see Ark again.
We’re likely going to face Arky twice, and possibly three times.

One home run was a golf swing on a low fast ball. Good pitch. Just unlucky.
Yeah, that was crazy.

You could throw that exact pitch to 100 batters and only a handful would be able to foul it off much less smoke it over the fence.

Arkansas might not even see him in Omaha. Kade will be first up and if we get to the losers bracket Eyanson will likely start the second game. Only then would we face UA again, which will likely be Shores, etc.

Same scenario applies if LSU beats Arkansas, instead of going for the if LSU loses scenario.

When Eyanson starts his curveball in the strike zone and you swing, it’s almost unhittable. It has so much downward break that it usually ends up in the dirt. If you take it, it’s usually not a strike. That’s what WV started doing. He usually gets swings and misses on it.

When he starts it above the strike zone, it usually breaks down into the strike zone for a called strike and is very hard to hit. He usually gets takes for a strike on this pitch. Very few swing at it because it starts way above the strike zone.

Unless we go 0-2, we would likely face Arkansas again in our third game whether it be through the winners bracket or losers bracket.

It was a tough 2 games to pitch in with that heat
Even lsu aces wore down fast

I also think Cowan will get back to form in Omaha and be able to locate his pitches better

Neither Anderson or Eyanson would pitch that game, which was what he was talking about.

Same with the Murray State coach imo. Two young talented coaches.
