Would you be mad about this if the player wasn't from LSU?

I think he's referring to the sexual battery charge that got him kicked off UGA.

Oh. So you have reliable information to the contrary. Please share it. List your source too. I'm interested in knowing.

Mett wasn't working out the week of the combine. He was there for interviews and tests. He was in 0 danger of cramping up from an interview, the wonderlic, or getting measured. He drank the water to dilute his sample because a flagged sample due to dilution is better than a flat out positive test.

People don't understand that - drink as much water as possible try and flush your system out because there are more excuses that can be used than a positive hit.

Just drinking water does nothing to aid recovery of an ACL.

It prevents cramping from working out, which he wasn't doing the week of the combine.

He specifically wasn't working out within 24hrs of this drug test, which is when all this water had to be consumed to dilute the drug test.

Yeah the reasoning and timing for the diluted sample doesn't make sense and more than likely explains why the NFL didn't accept it.

How do you get cramps? From working out.

you must of never had a surgery on a muscle...you actually do get cramps after surgery if not drinking enough water this will increase and it hurts like shite...so working out isnt the only way to get cramps...

So you know he wasn't doing any form of workouts at all during the week of the combine? I know he didn't work out for teams, but you're just assuming he sat on his arse for a week? Or is there something I'm missing here?

You don't need a reliable source, you just have to use your freaking brain!!!

Mett didn't work out at the Combine all he did was take the Wonderlic and meet with Teams to answer questions. Why on earth would you need to over-hydrate for that? Now you can go into a hundred different tangents from there but the fact is he needed to use his brain a little more and so do you!!!

it isn't as if you have to binge drink water to have a diluted sample. you could get flagged if you drink three bottles of water over the course of the entire day up to your drug test and hadn't yet urinated. plus, if he was doing interviews prior to the test and sipped water to keep his mouth from drying out due to nervousness or excessive speaking, then he could have easily had enough water to dilute his sample.

nobody cares except the draft "experts," whose sole job it is to talk about the draft ad nauseum. maybe this story will impact mett, but i doubt he is blackballed from the league.

The NFL didn't accept it because it is their policy to question the results. Period. The policy is applied to everyone at this stage and doesn't include post test interviews.

I'm sorry. I'm applying reason in a situation when gossip is called for.

They said that Mett should be taken off the board of all NFL teams after his failed drug test at the NFL combine.

Of course he took PEDs to speed up his recovery, so what? I dont think it hurts him at all. If a team likes that arm they draft him.

Nobody in his camp knew this and forewarned him about the risk?

That is why you try and flush your system out because you at least have more excuses to try and hang on to instead of a positive hit on the drug test.

Is the dehydration excuse possible, yes but it is extremely remote considering the circumstances. There are no other cramping issues reported at the combine so much so that they had to over-hydrate. Yet an individual that DID NOT work out at the combine was de-hydrated and had a diluted urine sample. It just doesn't add up so unfortunately for Mett is the one who was going to suffer from it, it looks like.

Exactly. Find it hard to believe no one in his camp told him to take it easy 24-48 hrs before the biggest drug test of his life for fear of failing. The apologists in here are amazing.

Diluted sample is same as positive sample in the eyes of the NFL i
