I've never understood this line of thinking. If the team I pull for isn't playing in the national championship, I'm not riding the coat tails of another team from the same conference.

Because when LSU wins the SEC, it will mean something.
I like that the SEC is extremely tough. I like that there are great teams like Alabama.
Because it makes it more fun as an LSU fan.
It's not as fun to play in a conference where you are the only big dog around. I'd much rather the SEC continue their dominance on the national stage because I like watching the competition within the SEC.
