Of course. LSU recruiting is poor although the final sell still comes from Kelly and NIL.

He was a really good recruiter but not a good coach. There is a reason a second DB coach was a stipulation to get Aranda to stay when he almost went to A&M.

Because Florida looks so good as a team right now…..

Raymond was a clown. He didn’t make us DBU, LSU made him.

Seems he did a pretty good job recruiting high end talent, and is continuing that trend at Florida

And continuing to under coach those recruits because they are getting torched worse than ours

Decommits are already starting for FL. I bet their final class will not be in the top 10. Their DB’s looked terrible against Utah. TN is going to make them look terrible again Saturday.

How did they look terrible? They gave up one big play and 160 pass yards total.

That’s far from terrible

Why are you leaving out the 5 star from Texas he pulled?

Xavier Filsaime. Are you also ignoring the good safety and corner class they had last year?

Not sure what being a “good recruiter” even means these days. Was Corey Raymond really efficient at handing off the bags o’ cash or something?

I think our main issues simply come from the zone defense idea. It has always been hard to implement at LSU. Raymond couldn’t teach it either. Our best strategy has always been to get star corners and let them do their thing. It doesn’t require great coaching. For all their swagger, our corners were not great in every occasion under Raymond either. There’s some revisionist history going on here.

Yawn. Ricks and Stingley quit on his watch.

The last time MSU beat LSU was on Sept. 26, 2020 in the first year of the Mike Leach era when the Bulldogs traveled to Baton Rouge and shocked the defending national champions as quarterback KJ Costello tossed an SEC single-game record 623 passing yards en route to a 44-34 victory.

The DB room was an absolute clown show under Raymond’s watch his last few years

Granted, he wanted the Uhugh safety that went to A&M over the safety signed from Pennsylvania.

But kids weren’t going to class, several questionable “injuries”, players blowing assignments.

Just a cluster.

I’m keeping an eye on Chevis Jackson and his growth.

Lmao. So you aren’t acknowledging the Natty the year before with a freshman DB he recruited and aren’t acknowledging Pelini as the worst hire in program history? Weird
