I'm loving this shite. I hate politics, but this is providing for some great comic relief.

LSU gets no tax money for sports of any type. The football, baseball and sometimes basketball support the rest of the athletic programs plus gives million to the academic side.

Louisiana is not going to go through with the treats to shut down LSU or LSU football.

This is all fear mongering 101 by John Bell Edwards to get his tax increases passed. There is no politician in Louisiana that will commit political suicide by shutting down LSU or LSU football.
This is John Bell's calculated way of getting back at those who did not elect is proposed leadership in the legislature. He is trying to take control of the special sessions of the legislature to ensure his tax increase agenda is passed.

Wake up Louisiana you have just elected a politician who promised you one thing on the campaign trail while trying to get elected but who is now hell bent on doing something totally different now that he is safely in office for four years.

FFS some of you are stupid.

LSU (Baton Rouge) would be the very last university in this state to be shut down.

Anyone who actually believes LSU is in danger of being shut down and is breathing life to this is an imbecile.

No amount of BS you spill is going to pay teachers at LSU. Do you think they are going to work for your prayers?

No one is "shutting down" LSU out of choice, the current system and funding just brings in less money that we pay out in salaries, etc. The only way to fix it is if somehow we raise oil prices (GOODLUCK) all of a sudden turn the economy around in a few months (JINDALS BEEN TRYING 8 YEARS!) or raise tax revenues to take in more money at these new lower rate of returns.

With your kind of logic, I imagine soon you will be blaming the professors for not teaching for free so that LSU football can continue...

I think the point he is making is that the legislature will do something to find the money.

We aren't going to let every state run university run out of money. It's not going to happen. JBE is using LSU as a political football to work things out the way he wants to.
