Tiger Stadium is absurdly overrated
Go watch the 2016 Bama game.

It feels overrated because fans aren’t going anymore and the ones that do are trying to leave early so they don’t get stuck in traffic.

I took my nephew to the Ole Miss game a couple of years ago when Leonard ran wild and we were stuck in the garage for 2 hours after the game. It took me 3-1/2 hours to get back to Metairie.

We had a crew of 6 guys and their families that would tailgate every game religiously. We literally tailgated for the spring game. Our spot got put off limits due to “safety” reasons. Parking and tickets went through the roof it’s just not realistic anymore. Between the tickets, fees, parking passes, towing, traffic and poor product it’s just not worth it. And when they went cheap it was like a slap in the face.

There was one guy left that still did the tailgates. He’s hanging it up this year.

If they win people will funnel in. Garunteed.

I think he meant in terms of the actual structure and concourses.

I actually like the spartan and throwback feel of it but I get that I’m in the minority on that

Would LSU ever decrease seats in Tiger Stadium? by DBG

Sure, I fully expect to see that happen. Premium seating is where the cash comes from. I would fully expect most schools with decent event attendance to convert a lot of the cheaper seats to super premium (i.e. stadium club, suites, etc.).

Unfortunately, this will just further exclude the common fans....but super premium spaces are the future of live sports.

Wifi upgrades are feasible and practical. At Levi’s Stadium you can download all 3 Goddather movies during peak traffic in like 10 seconds

Haha...is Wifi really that important when you're at a football game? Kinda Seems like pissing money away to me. Give me some concession stand workers that can count.

I think there is a certain segment of the fanbase that won’t go to games no matter the product, for all the reasons you mentioned.

When you’re constantly bombarded with lengthy breaks in play for commercial after commercial then yeah.

Imagine you had the ability to order concessions in your seat and have them delivered to you without getting up.

Imagine you notice a bunch of assholes leave their awesome seats at halftime, and you can instantly upgrade to their seats for a small fee once they are out of the stadium.

Imagine you missed a big play (and the replays) because you were taking a piss, and you could watch the big-board replay on your phone.

You have actually laid out some pretty damn good ideas here.

However, I already do this...no fee involved...

I've done it, too. Would you pay $5 and have it be 100% legit? I'm curious. I feel like some would and others wouldn't.

I disagree completely.

LSU send out 10k to women’s gymnastics meets.

LSU had their worst basketball team ever last year and sold out the PMAC for the bama basketball game this year.

You have to give people a reason to go. LSU always has and always will support a winner.

We’ve led the country in baseball attendance for like 20 years.

How would you regulate this? Like how do the seats become available?

Also why wouldn’t people just wait for it to pop up and go sit in them? Are you going to pay someone to go check the seats now? Sounds like a logistical nightmare.

Get rid of bleachers and that includes the new shitty seats they installed 14 year ago that are horrendous with no leg room. Add standing room areas with bars and walkways around stadium. More walkwas by concession areas and bathrooms. Then pressure wash everything.

In my case I would love it because I’m constantly trying to check scores of other games, and stats and such during commercial breaks. WATCHESPN app would be awesome to access at halftime.

It’s nof that important but it will absolutely increase the fan experience. LSU needs to either win big or find ways to make the experience worth it.

Another thing- the concessions are fuching terible. Whoever decided to go with aarmark should lose their job. They ran out of waters at 2 games I was at last year in the 1st half. Fuching water.

Sad part, I know exactly who made that decision.

Yeah, I think there are a number of things they can do that would make the fan experience better, but I think they need to start with the areas that people complain about the most (prices, parking and concessions) and then look at other things that fans would like. Sometimes you have to listen to what the fans are saying.

There are enough people out there interested in going to LSU games to fill it. Why not make an effort to draw those people back with friendlier tailgating policies and a renewed focus on the customer? On a macro level Saban is right that P5 should play only P5. Also CFB should move to the NFL practice of block commercials rather than spread out so you no longer have a score-commercial-kick off-commerical-3 and out-commercial pattern that deflates and bores the crowd.

Making the stadium smaller is attacking the symptom rather than the disease

That this post got 5 downvotes should our to bet any doubt that Alleva has a crew of stooges running around on here

I’d be fine with removing both upper decks, matching the exterior to the SEZ expansion and having a small upper deck above the suites/club like skyline.

Wrap the “suite/club” level around the NEZ but with a restaurant/bar that’s open to the general ticketed public like you see in the outfield at MLB stadiums.

Combine that with WiFi and some of the other amenities mentioned earlier and it would be top notch.

Tons of Doctor wives, social sceners, etc. that can afford the tickets but don't really care about the game.
YEP, the "Corporates" and "Wine & Cheesers" and the "It's my money and my ticket and I'll do what I damn well please candy arse early Departer's" are becoming the majority in the stadium now.

That's why it currently doesn't bother me one fricking bit to stay away from being in attendance. It no longer causes mental anguish to abstain.

Feels good to freely pick and choose the games without reservation. Been there, done That.

I truly wish it would get to that point again where I simply can't miss a game!
