No. He’s a self-centered pervert who defrauded his school and could not even pay attention to the ballgames that were ongoing.

Too much of a financial liability, especially after the title nine suits

said that he had never seen such a poor fundamentally coached team. Said he basically had to start over coaching the players in fundamentals & routine baseball
Is that why they were better with Cannizzaro and regressed with his replacement?
It’s undeniable that he’s a great hitting coach. He clearly has some personal demons and doesn’t seem to have any mental maturity. The reason he doesn’t have a job in baseball doesn’t have anything to do with his lack of coaching ability.

SHOCKER MESSAGE!!
How about the fan's let the AD decide on who to hire if a hiring is needed.
Fans always try to act like they "know inside information" on the new coach.
You guys don't know squat concerning the real personalities of these coaches.
Examp: My brother kid played on his team 2 years ago.
Examp: Read an article from his past college and they stated he was a superstar coach.
etc etc

I know him and he’s a damn good guy and they are two sides every story
Well, if you get fired at multiple stops you have to think maybe he is doing something to cause this

We need to have some FAQ-type threads on this board that covered topics that have been beaten to death over the years. Then we could quit having the 265th versions of "would LSU ever bring back Cannizaro" thread or "can't wait for LSU to rehire Will Wade" or "they need to let the live Mike the Tiger back into Tiger Stadium."

Not arguing either way. That's just what his replacement said & it was discussed over & over here, back then.

Jay is an idiot if he doesn’t think Cannizaro wouldn’t help this team.
I’d take him back in a heartbeat

regressed?
they won 50+ games the next 2 (full) seasons and won a Natty.
Andy never did either of those.
Lemonis then had 2 down years, but now has them back to 40 wins (Andy’s peak).

maybe he would, maybe he wouldn’t.
he has a grand total of 3 years as a hitting coach in his entire career.
and since then has gone from college head coach, to high school coach, to travel ball coach.
if he really and truly was worth the risk, somebody at a higher level than 10u travel ball would have him in their staff right now.

He seems really happy coaching his son and his son's buddies. And I think that's pretty cool.

i did the same think when my sons were that age. and can respect him for doing so because it’s a lot harder than most here make that out to be.
but if he was honestly worth the risk to outweigh his baggage, somebody somewhere would have given him an offer he would have taken.

I don't disagree. I just think the offers may not outweigh having to change his life up at this point. His son and his buddies are having a good time. He's having a good time with it. When his son goes to high school, I think you probably see him back in a high school role. No way he just watches.

that’s kind of what i mean.
i’m sure he’s gotten offers from places.
but not “hitting coach at upper tier of Power 5” level offers.
and typically if a guy his age (he’s only 45) isn’t receiving those offers, there tends to be a reason.
Because if he was worth it, a big time baseball school would have made that offer by now.
And we would have heard of them going after him and him either accepting or refusing it.
Posted on 6/17/24 at 9:35 pm to Nutriaitch
Again, I don't disagree. I also don't think "hitting coach at upper tier of Power 5" would even do it now. I think it's a bit of both. Some caution from schools and some disinterest from Andy.

I talked to Andy today. He’s good people.
