I would like Southern Miss in game 1.

Our first game would likely be Saturday not Sunday. First games of Omaha would be on Friday. So Adam4848 has bad info i believe.

Typically what happens is the side of bracket that starts their supers on Fri-Sun is the "first bracket" in Omaha that will start Saturday in Omaha. The supers that start Sat-Mon would be the "second bracket" in Omaha and start Sunday.

If LSU makes it to Omaha would most likely begin on a Sunday. The exact time as in game 1 or 2 is determined once the teams are set for prime time matchups.

It appears the CWS is back to a Friday-Saturday schedule for the opening games.

With LSU playing the Sat-Mon Super Regional (along with all of the other teams on their side of the bracket) it appears they would likely open the CWS on Saturday.

This is correct Adam!

Winner of KENT/LSU will play winner of TN/Southern Miss on the 2nd day of the World Series on June 17. So we do not get Wake Forest first game.

I never said we would play Wake in the first game. In fact, I showed a pic of the bracket showing we would play the winner of S Miss - Ten.

You mean to tell me that a bunch of LSU fans, on an LSU message board, are looking into potential match-ups if we advance to the CWS? WTF? That's just crazy.

I didn’t say anything about being scared. Someone asked if they showed any weaknesses.

They won their regional 48-7

There’s no doubt WF has a good team, but it’s not like they were playing in a really strong regional.

If we take down Kentucky, we'll ge the winner of Tennessee/ Southern Miss as our 1st game in OMaha.

Somone posted a beautiful bracket above.

To be fair, neither was LSU. In fact, LSU's regional was probably the worst (in terms of competition) of any regional. LSU had the ONLY team with a losing record in the tournament (Tulane). SHSU wasn't a particularly strong #3 seed. At least compared to Northeastern (ranked appx. 30 spots higher than SHSU in RPI). Maryland and Oregon St. were pretty comparable as #2 seeds.

WF destroyed their regional with a nearly 14 run average margin of victory (of course, they got to play the #4 twice). While LSU didn't necessarily struggle in their regional, they were nowhere near as dominant as WF was in theirs.

Point being, the "Wake played a weak regional" is the not the argument I would use to discredit them...at least relative to LSU.

I thought brackets were 1,2,7,8 and 3,4,5,6.

But then again I believe in proper seeding as opposed to NCAA, so….

Their pitching staff is really friggin good. But I would like to see Skenes face off against them. However, because of how the Bracket is setup that would be Floyd facing off against them not Skenes.

What made you think this? You would have 1 and 2 on the same side and not possible to meet up in the championship? It's never been like that.

Bracket 1 is always 1v8, 4v5.

Bracket 2 is always 2v7, 3v6.

But bracket 1 doesn't always start 1st.

Not sure about that. It will stay that way. Clemson lost, so Lzszu moves to #4. That puts them in bracket one. If either the number 1, 2 or 3 lose their Super LSU could change brackets.

Wait Vanderbilt is gone, so we move up to #3 and are in FL’s bracket for now.

Yeah, that's not how it works.
