Would Ed O. be a good hire for Miles?

Sarkisian interviewed with USC for the head coaching job; ESPN's crawl is actually reporting that it's a done deal.

I know that Orgeron did a decent job in lieu of Kiffin being fired, but it seems unlikely that another big program (ex - Texas) is going to hire him simply based on that.

Combined with the thought that Brick Haley might be lured back to the NFL, Orgeron seems like a sure target for Miles to go after, especially given Ed's recruiting ability.

What say you?

Orgeron isn't taking a position coaching job.

He'd be a great hire, but he already turned LSU down once.

He has zero desire to be an assistant at LSU.

Not a chance in hell O gets hired by UT as head coach. I mean, there's a reason why USC passed on him after the success and supporters he had.

I guess I kind of understand why he might not take an offer from LSU (bad blood ), but why not as a position coach? Hell, hire him to coach the DL & make him co-recruiting coordinator with Frank.

Explain this to me. I really don't understand the history of LSU & Ed beyond the fact that he turned down an offer from the Tigers once and ended up at Ole Miss.

Bring on ED O and pay him about $700,000 a year and tell coach Nader its been great. We have a new recruiting coordinator and one more thing. Ed for every national Championship recruiting title you bring we will give you and extra $300,000 so you can make an even mill!

I am down wit dat

This. He'd be great for recruiting if nothing else.

and the people on this board think Miles is dumb?

Ed's IQ might be single digit.

As a DL coach & a recruiter, is he not effective?

well have to 100% disagree with your first point (put him with P Jenkins and we can set a new "worst chemistry and most back stabbing" ever awards) but whne did we offer him? really, was not aware, link?

Would like for it to happen, but unfortunately it won't. USC is probably going to throw a lot of money at Coach O to keep him around to pacify the players.

I would bet a big school like Texas or OSU would scoop him up

I think it was the same year that he went to Ole Miss. In fact, if I remember correctly, he accepted the position here at first. I could be misremembering though.
