Would Devonta Lee take one for the team and move to defense?

I know this has been discussed a few times. Is there any chance he would make the move to defense? He has the potential to a an All- American on that side of the ball. Honestly with all the talent right now at WR on this team I think his talent is just being wasted. Just my two cents!

Just last week O said they discussed it with him and he wants to play WR and they are going to honor it.

Don't know why he would have a problem with it. He's definitely got the build and physicality to do so. I think we would see PT a lot sooner if that were ever to be the case. He's one hell of a receiver though and has the ability to break tackles and run guys over.

Devonta Lee would be exciting to see on defense, he would not drop any balls. An issue we saw on defense.

RB-LB is a much more profitable move than WR-DB.

my prediction is that when he sees the guys we have coming next year, defense will look a lot more appealing to him.

Lets say Jefferson goes pro. The WR room looks like this:

Jamar Chase
Terrace Marshall
Racey McMath
Trey Palmer
Jaray Jenkins
*Koy Moore
*Kayshon Boutte (sp?)
*Jermain Burton
*Rakim Jarrett

At 6'1 223 Lee wouldn't be moving to DB. It would be WR-LB and White could explain to him how that move worked out for him.

The way the upcoming receiving class looks, I think he will find out in the spring that moving positions is probably his best option.

I agree. Wasn't he an INT machine in high school?

He should move to defense. He seems like a better safety than WR that would pay huge dividends for his NFL career.

Lee is not an NFL WR.

He may be an NFL caliber defensive player however.

These kids would be wise to listen to their coaches.

He would be a badass safety. Someone in his inner circle should have told him that coming out of high school.

Not to say he can’t be a good wr

I think he'd be an All American OLB.

Dude was clear on this before he signed. Its going to take some strong convincing to get him to switch to defense.

Strong safety maybe but you definitely don't see CBs playing at that size

They did. He was even being recruited by the dark side as a safety but he stood firm on playing receiver.

I've been saying since I saw his play in HS he needs to be a TE. Kid has elite jump ball skills. Sullivan is gone after this year. Lee should slide into that role and be a redzone nightmare for defenses.
