LSU has had the most fairweather fan base for many years. Last night was nothing new.

USC used to have 40-50000 fans a game about 5 years ago...

Most Miami "fans" aren't even aware they have a football team unless they're in contention for a National Championship. The same can be said for USC. Let USC have a few 8-4 seasons; they'd be lucky to draw 30K to one of their games.

Just wait, five years from now, 93,000 people will claim they stayed to the very end of the Troy game!!

Then don't follow this team. We are better off without you and your negativity.

There is a big difference between a few 8-4 seasons and 1 three loss season.

People that think LSU fans are the worst "fairweather" fans really ought to get out more. You do realize that there are states outside of Louisiana, right?

Someone mentioned how Miami fans aren't even aware they have a team if they aren't in the hunt for the title. I'll go you one better. Even in their national title years, they OFTEN didn't sell out.

Yeah, it was 9:1 OSU over Miami fans in Tempe our NC year.

Did you go to the game last night?

ShortyRob is stuck in a Virginia hotel so no, I didn't.

I don't like fans leaving any more than anyone else. But people act like Tiger Stadium is the only one to empty out in such games. To believe this, one really must live under a rock.

I don't believe TigerNation and a lot of the others get it. The fans that left the game last night aren't necessarily fairweather fans. Those of y'all that want to criticize so many for leaving before the game ended apparently don't truly love LSU enough to understand how painful it is for those of us who truly love LSU to watch our Tigers die such a horrific death at the hands of a team that shouldn't have even scored in Tiger Stadium!

I'm gonna call out GeauxChrisSports and any others of y'all that are hounding the fanbase for leaving early and calling them fairweather fans and "negatigers". . .Y'all were real good at browbeating these fans and using all kinds of epithets in righteous indignation at the fact that Tiger fans would, "bail on the team". So all right, all you self-righteous fans of LSU who would NEVER leave a game early no matter how dismal the Tigers' performance. . . What the HELL were you doing posting on TIGERDROPPINGS last night during the game rather than being there in PERSON and showing support for your team?!!! Tickets were clearly available at affordable prices and there were plenty of unfilled seats during Pre-game. So . . .Where the hell were YOU?!

Me? I wasn't there. I wish I could have been, but I am stuck for the time-being north of Atlanta with little ability to leave the area during the weekends to get even as far as Athens. But you won't catch me questioning the loyalty of ANY Tiger fan who at least took the time to show up for the game in the first place.

In essence, if you're going to bitch about fans leaving games early, then you'd better be doing the bitching from the stands yourself. Because if you're bitching with your fingers on a computer keyboard from the warm comfort of your own home while a game is playing in Death Valley, then you're a pretty sorry SOB for not getting up off your a$$ to go support the Tigers in the first place.

Before you try to remove the spec from your brother's eye, be sure you have removed the beam from your own!

That said, !!!

Absolutely, I'm sick of hearing about LSU's fan base. When that caliber of talent under performs the way they did through 2.5 quarters that is what you"ll get from every teams fan base. The bar around here is high. It is the expectation of championships every year that makes LSU one of the if not the greatest place to play ball. Go ask RS thats why he's coming here. Proud that they came back but there was no excuse to be in that position in the first place. Players and coaches have to take reponsibility and they did. Great comeback lets move forward to Ole Miss.

The criticism was justified. If you haulded arse before the end of the game; you have no romm to gripe. Just proved your a "fair weather fan".
