Same here. I've been to Gainesville twice (one LSU win and one loss) and was treated to that wonderful Gator hospitality both times. Other schools have their share of obnoxious fans, but UF's are just plain mean. Maybe it has something to do with the shithole of a city that the university is located in.

I went to Gainesville a few years ago (2006) and I vowed I would absolutely never return.
I generally don't paint one fanbase with one broad brush stroke, but with UF I do, absolutely disgusting, mean-spirited, and repugnant as a whole.
I'm sure there are some exceptions, but that day I didn't come across any.

Was anyone at the varsity last time those fricks were in town?
I was. I have never seen such a bunch of trashy animals. I was cracking up that they had no place to go after they shut the place down.

Even when you are nice to a florida fan, they will get in your face. They are the biggest group of psycho fans I have seen and I have been to a Philadelphia eagles game.

The UF fans are the worst. Weren't they the ones who kept calling your QB and threatening to rape and murder him and his family members?
I hear they're already at it again this year.
Touche. That's pretty embarassing and bush league.

God, I hope this is not F'ing true
This is what LSU students did to Tebow 2 yrs ago
Yes, I recall that. It was stupid then and even stupider if someone is doing it a second time.

Gainesville = the shittiest city i've ever been in
The Swamp = shitty stadium, which tries to cram in way too many people...felt like i was sitting on the guy in front of me
the best way i could described Gainesville is Panama City...that is exactly how it it. nothing but bros and nasty girls, all the buildings are outdated and ratty looking. i got the biggest kick out of there greek houses...look like old school cafeteria buildings with greek letters stuck on the outside.
the fans werent terrible, my dad got made fun of because he had his LSU jersey over a collared shirt...mainly because he was tired of carrying his jersey around. so some guy took the liberty of saying he looked "gay" with his jersey on. but thats the only one that i really remember.
my biggest complaint was just the city itself...the campus was O.K., nothing special.
anyone who went last year, do ya'll remember seeing the giant "gay, lesbian, and trassexual festival" banner hanging across the 'main-drag' of Gainesville(forgot the name of the road)? i remember laughing uncontrollably at that...

Agree, I think they have an angry and abusive fanbase. Most of them appear to be bipolar at best, and manic-depressive at worst.

<–––––– I love having my tag in FLA!
Maybe I have lived here too long. In general, they respect other teams and are pretty fair. My kid's go to high school that has gator colors. I wear my LSU gear to every game and they give me crap, but all in fun. More than mean, ARROGANT is the best description. They have won 3 NC's and act like they have 23.

I guess nobody remembers back in the 70's when some L.S.U. Neanderneck threw a bottle and hit a University of Kentucky band member in the head while the Kentucky band was performing ON THE FIELD in Tiger Stadium. The UK band has never been back to Baton Rouge since that incident....

Jordan, you haven't traveled much I guess, just 3 short years ago G'ville was voted The #1 city in the US too live by Money magazine. As for the stadium being outdated, you are WAYYY off base here, many millions have been spent the last 2 years on the front of the stadium, locker rooms, 2 HD replay screens, etc. Death Valley is a great venue for a game, but seriously, pretty old and outdated as well. It should be a great game between 2 great teams with 2 equally passionate fanbases.

didnt say the stadium was outdated...said they were trying to fit too many people in their...actually, it's the 'millions in renovations' that probably have made it worse IMO. they said, hey...how can we get more people in here? lets add more seats. and they did and its too close for comfort, you can hardly walk in front of your seats bc the isle is so small. its an 80-85,000 person stadium holding 90,000.
and sorry, its just an opinion...and i come from a pretty shitty city (houma, though recently its gotten much better) but i was less than impressed with gainesville...maybe we just didnt see the good parts

We had a good time in G-Ville other than the arse-schlacking. The bar scene was good, the tailgating was aight, campus is pretty, the stadium was good, but very crowded. Fans were pretty decent, but things may have been different if we had won the game. There were some pretty good fans there overall. Now Bama, they suck donkey nuts from A to Z.

Was in the E Upper in 07 and watched the UF fans act like complete jackasses. We were sitting on the aisle right next to their section..everytime one of their fans would go up or down the steps, they were cussing and flipping us off, "accidentally" spilling their beers on us, etc. Finally stuck my foot out and sent one of those motherfkers tumbling about 15 steps down the aisle....he got up but didnt know who did it...looking to fight everyone...classic funny!!!
Watched an old LSU man later cane-whip this young UF fan for shoving his wife at the concession stand...again..classic UF stupidity in a visiting stadium!!!

The worst fans would be anyone who finds out their opponents' cell phone numbers and calls them up to curse them out 10,000 times before the game.

We're talking about fan on fan action here, not fan on opposing players
We sit by opposing fans in Tiger Stadium - based on my experience the worst visiting fans are Florida, South Carolina and Auburn. Usually the AU fans are ok except for 2003/2007.
