I think WW is a great coach, and this whole NCAA shitstorm is a farce, and you're about to pile up downvotes, but what you're saying could be true -
let's not kid ourselves; a big NCAA hammer dropping somewhere down the path these wiretaps have taken us is not completely beyond the realm of possibility at all

Some people arent very bright. No way they bring him in to fire ww. Alleva could have done that shite before he left. Why would you hire a new guy then have him piss everyone off.

Try logic

I’m going to go with a Wade extension that increases his AAV and locks him down.

Wishful thinking I know. I do think Wade is our coach going forward, but I suspect the BOS is going to take a wait and see before committing further.

Honestly though I think his first major contribution will be in spending big to get LSU athletic facilities for the big 3 sports back in the top tier of the SEC. Don’t get me wrong, we are still top 10-15 nationally... but that puts us down the list a ways in the SEC.

Oh and a Women’s BB coach as early as the end of next season without massive improvement.

I don’t think he goes after CPM, though falling short of super regionals probably puts him on the hot seat.
Same with Football as O just netted a $10mil buyout in his extension that drops $250k every month. I could see him beginning a coaching search this year with a 2020 change in mind if Orgeron fails to have a minimum of 10 wins in both the 2019 and 2020 regular seasons.

Except there's basically an equally likely chance right now that all that evidence (which reminder, no one knows the full scope of what they actually have, nor how incriminating it is) could be sealed away and never see the light of day (if a judge tosses out Wade/Miller testifying, I can't imagine Dawkins not taking a plea deal at that point).

First hire almost certainly will be women's soccer just because it's an open position right now, wouldn't surprise me if WBB is next

ETA: Darkhorse candidate would be Gymnastics if LSU wins it all and D-D rides off into the sunset as a national champion

Do you people even follow college sports? Boheim and Syracuse were slapped with 12 violations in 2015 and he got 5 games, if we fire Wade over 1 violation we don’t deserve to have a basketball program. There is no death penalty anymore, every sanction is minor and anyone barely notices. What happened to Louisville with the prostitute scandal? Weren’t they in the NCAA tourney this year? You guys simply have no clue.

I think Women’s basketball and Volleyball should be looked it. You have to see the trend, women sports are becoming more and more popular. You can see it in the PMAC being absolutely packed for gymnastics meets and Tiger Park being packed for softball games. Now I’m not saying break bank trying to get successful teams, but you have to spend money, to make money (in this case lose less money).

It’s not as simple as hire someone who truly loves LSU but it’s the biggest part of it once the qualifications are met. You’re right those sports both draw and you need someone who can capitalize on that. LSU is unique because we’re one of the only schools in the country that has 3 potential money makers. Football, Basketball and for us Baseball, very few schools have this capability and potential.

The NCAA has its own legal challenges to deal with. It got its first bite of the Wade apple, and cleared WW for reinstatement. That's quite a tell.

The fan reaction to the whole Wade fiasco is what finally sent Alleva out the door. No way Woodward's first move is to fire Wade. Alleva isn't out because he reinstated him, you know.

Correct. Also he must be pretty confident that there won’t be any issues or that he can sort them out with Emmeret, or he’d keep making money without headaches in college station.
