To be fair, openly supporting Trump probably did have some negative impact.

As a Rep. I get where he's coming from, a coach esp collegiate one where transfer portal is bigger than ever, one of if not the most important thing is to keep the players happy and that means kids of all type of backrounds, yes I realize if Obama was still president this wouldn't be a story but Woodward is just reading the room, something which O *and Pomanksy* failed to do last year and fumbled the rock.
